Reality, imagination

or something else?

Page 2: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances

by the factor of 10.

Page 3: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Starting with 100 equivalent to 1 meter,

and increasing sizes by factor of 10s, or 101 (10 meters),

102 (10x10 = 100 meters), 103 (10x10x10 = 1.000 meters)

and so on, until the limits

of our inmagination.

Page 4: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

We’ll return, a little faster, up to the point where we started and would continue our trip in the opposite

direction.

1012

1 billion km

Page 19: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

At this height of our trip, we can observe the Solar System and the orbits of the planets

1013

10 billions km

Page 20: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

1014

100 billions km

The Solar System starts looking smaller

Page 21: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Now the Sun is a small star in the middle of thousands other stars

1015

1 trillion km

Page 22: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

The little Sun star is very small at one light-year

1016

1 light-year

Page 23: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Here we will see nothing in the infinity

1017

10 light-years

Page 24: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Nothing, only stars and Nebulae

1018

100 light-years

Page 25: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

1019

1,000 light-years

At this distance, we start travelling the Via-Lactea (Milky Way) our galaxy

Page 26: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

We continue our travel inside the Via-Lactea

1020

10,000 light-years

Page 27: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

We reach the periphery of the Via-Lactea

1021

100,000 light-years

Page 28: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

We can see all the Via-Lactea & other galaxies at this tremendous distance

1022

1 million light-years

Page 29: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

From this distance, all the galaxies look small with inmense empty spaces in between.

We can further continue traveling upwards with our imagination but we’ll return home quickly from here

1023 - 10 million light-years

104

Questions that come to our minds ...

Who are we?

From where did we come?

Where are we going?

Page 49: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

103

Or... what do we represent in this Universe?

Page 50: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

102

We went to the power of 23 of 10 in the upwards trip.

Page 51: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

101

Now we are going to dig inside of the matter in an inverse journey

Page 52: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

We have arrived at our starting point

100

Page 53: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

We can delineate the leaves by getting closer at 10 cm

10-1

10 Centímeters

Page 54: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

We can observe the leaf structure at this distance

10-2

1 Centímeter

Page 55: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

The cellular structures start showing

10-3

1 Millímeter

Page 56: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Now the cells can be defined

We can see the unions between them

10-4

100 microns

Page 57: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Now we’ll go inside the cell

10-5

10 microns

Page 58: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

The nucleus of the cell is visible

10-6

1 micron

Page 59: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Now we can see the chromosomes.

10-7

1,000 Angstroms

Page 60: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

The DNA chains are visible in this micro universe.

10-8

100 Angstroms

Page 61: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Now the chromosomes blocks can be obsereved

10-9

10 Angstroms

Page 62: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

It appears like clouds of electrons. These are carbon atoms that form our world

We can notice the resemblance of the microcosmos with the macrocosmos

10-10

1 Angstrom

Page 63: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

In this miniature world, we can observe the electrons orbiting the atoms

10-11

10 picometers

Page 64: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

An inmense empty space between the nucleous and the electron orbits

10-12

1 Picometer

Page 65: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

At this incredible and minuscule size we can observe the nucleous of an atom

10-13

100 Fentometers

Page 66: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Now we can observe the nucleous of the carbon atom clearly

10-14

10 Fentometers

Page 67: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Here we are in the field of the scientific imagination, face to face with a proton

10-15

1 Fentometer

Page 68: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Examine the ‘quark’ partícles

There is nowhere more to go from here,at the limits of current scientific knowledge about matter

10-16

100 Atometers

Page 69: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Are we the center of the universe?

Are we the special creature of the Creation?

What is behind all these limits?

Page 70: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Are there really any limits?

• By going “downwards” we could only go to the power of minus 16ª of 10 and reached the known (?) limits of the matter.

• But “upwards” we went to the power of 23ª of 10 and stopped.

• Perhaps we could have further continued our trip without limits to our imagination.

Page 71: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

How much we still need to learn about the universe?

Page 72: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

..........and even about ourselves?

Page 73: . Reality, imagination or something else? Let’s have a trip of the universe at high speed, jumping distances by the factor of 10.

Qur’an says;

And among His signs is the creation of the Heaven and the Earth, and the variations in your languages and colors; verily in this are the signs for those who know.
