VTAC: Applying for Tertiary

Study

Register for a VTAC account now if you wish to study at a Victorian University, TAFE or Private College in 2016

If you want to take a GAP year or work for a year, submit your VTAC application then apply for a deferment when you receive an offer

How to apply for Tertiary study

Students receive a VTAC guide if their school fees have

been paid

Lists details of Certificate, Diploma and Degree courses for each Institution in Victoria for 2016

Lists the 2015 ATARs for each University course

Information about SEAS categories and Scholarships

Attend Tertiary Open Days during August Compare course content using Course

guides and University websites Talk to teachers and the Careers co-

Choosing courses

You can select up to 12 preferences for your VTAC course application

If you have not completed the prerequisites or special requirements for the course, you will not receive an offer

Architecture at RMIT (continued)Prerequisites: Y12: Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL. NY12: As for Year 12 or equivalent.Selection requirements:

Information kit (Y12-All, NY12-Some): Applicants must complete and submit the 2016 RMIT University Architecture pre-selection kit by no later than 5.00pm, 9 October 2015. Late submissions will not be considered. The kit is available in the entry requirements section of www.rmit.edu.au/programs/bp250 . Some NY12 applicants may be exempt from completing the kit. Please refer to Information kit exemptions (below) for further information. Interview (Y12-Some, NY12-Some): Short-listed applicants required to attend an interview will be notified by the University via email by 5:00 pm, 27 November. These applicants must attend the interview, as assigned, between 8 and 10 December.completing the Information kit. These applicants must refer to Folio (above).

3) Enter your course preferences

4) Apply for SEAS and Scholarships

5) Pay for your application (or no offer)

Application steps

Register for a VTAC Account

Go to www.vtac.edu.au Login to VTAC User Account Enter your VTAC ID and PIN Answer the questions Enter a few courses to start with You can keep making changes until

applications close on 30th September

Step 2: VTAC course application

You can select up to12 tertiary courses

List your most preferred course first

Include pathways courses and TAFE Diplomas as a back-up plan

Course application closes on 30th September

You can change your courses during ‘Change of Preference’

Step 3: Ordering your preferences

Include some pathway Diplomas

All Gleneagles students should apply for at least one SEAS category

We are an under-represented school for Monash Uni, University of Melbourne, RMIT and Deakin University

All students should apply for a scholarship – you can receive from $500 up to $5000 dollars per year

SEAS and Scholarships

If you are applying for any RMIT courses, you can also nominate for the SNAP scheme through Gleneagles

Pick up a form from the Careers office or Ms Singh

Submit to the VCE studies Centre by Friday 4th September

Successful students will be endorsed by Gleneagles and contacted by RMIT

You will then be eligible for generous SEAS consideration

SNAP scheme with RMIT

Universities and TAFEs have Selection Officers who decide which students will receive an offer, not VTAC

Course selection officers consider the ATAR, completion of pre-requisites, read the SEAS application and award bonus points for high scores in particular subjects

Students will receive only one course offer in each round
