The de-IMrtment designated Monday, February 5, as the day to give the test KQdllfflPaeted the Sapenialehdents that a test on any other date-was not to be reported. This made it necessary to give the test on that particular day «hich to the regret of air the teachers and superintendent was one of the worst days we have had this session in regard to children getting to school. Some schools were closed en-tarely and all had very poor attendance, but notwithstanding this difficulty there were 52 p«r cent of the white pupils and S5 per cent of the colored jgiapila-tcstod. with 81.89 pcf cent efficiency for the wlute pupils and 70.59 per cent for the colored.
