Educational Collaboration
A new service is needed to facilitate collaboration amongst those involved in education across the UK and Internationally
• Research Institutions• Universities and Colleges• Primary and Secondary Schools• Museums and Galleries• Libraries and Archives• Orchestras and Theatres • Distance Learning Providers• Teachers, Tutors and Lecturers
The tools are now available to enable this to happen…

JANET Collaboration Service
The aim of the Collaboration Service is to enable those in education to find
1) others with similar educational interests, leading to educational collaboration;
2) opportunities for collaboration, especially live educational content being delivered by videoconference;
3) associated educational resources, e.g. best practice, projects, lesson plans.

Scope
The prototype will be available to educators, researchers and support staff in schools, colleges and universities in the UK and overseas, as well as content providers.
Prototype
A prototype will provide a focus for piloting and discussion.
If the prototype is successful this could lead to the specification, funding and development of a full production service.

Members will be able to
• search for other members with similar interests
• send a message to another member, inviting collaboration
• offer or request, search for and join “opportunities” for collaboration.
• create and take part in personal groups, forums and wikis
