A Three Part
Sunday Sermon Series
October 18-November 1
The byline of one shameful website recently reported in the news de-
clares, “Life is short, have an affair.” But the Bible warns us that there
are painful consequences for sinful behavior: consequences that reach
beyond that secret, private moment and claim us within and without:
painful consequences that spill over into the lives of others; even those
closest to us that we seek to protect. This sermon series turns to the life
of David and magnifies truths that can keep us from falling and truths
that show us the way back if we have already fallen.
Sermons in the Broken Cheater:
The Lure, The Lie, The Loss
2 Samuel 11, 12:10, 11, 14
The Cheater's Friend
2 Samuel 12:1-9, 13, Proverbs 27:6
The Way Back
Psalm 51

Has your child recently made a profession of faith? Do you want to know how to help your child know what the next steps are?
A four week study called I’m A Chris-tian Now will be offered for 1st – 6th
grade children who have recently accept-ed Christ as their Savior. Children will learn 1) What it means to be a Christian, 2) Next steps after becoming a Christian (Baptism, Lords Supper, etc.), 3) What it means to be in the church, and 4) How to live as a Christian (reading the Bible, praying, etc.). This class will start on Sun-day, November 8th from 5:30-6:00. Those who are interested should e-mail Bethany Taylor ([email protected]) for more information.
Just Older Youth (JOY Group)
It is exciting as I look forward to once again be working with the senior adults of our church. Our church is blessed with so many talented and gifted individuals who are 60 years or older. Many of you may have retired from work but you have NOT retired from LIFE. Jesus Christ said he came that we might have life more abundantly. I believe that is what the senior adult ministry is to be about –LIFE. The life of every senior adult has value and purpose - enjoying new experiences; serving and using your skills and talents; reaching out and ministering in Jesus’ name, and on occasion sharing a meal together. At our October fellowship on the 15th .our JOY luncheon will be Chicken Pastry, Sweet Potato Souffle, Salad, Rolls, Tea, and Dessert. I’ll also be sharing some of my plans for the coming year. More importantly though, I want to HEAR from you! What is something you have longed to do or be a part of? Plus, each meeting will include hearing a testimony (in word or song) from someone in our church body who is over 60. Yes, it’s going to be an
abundant year! Glen Warren
Believe In Christmas…
Believe In Christmas…
Deeply embedded in the story of Christmas is a word that takes us from simply hearing about the
birth of Christ to allowing our lives to be transformed by His love. It is with an expectant heart that
we believe. With this belief we find hope and peace through the Son that God sent down to
earth. This Christmas, our Adult Choir will work diligently to prepare a worship experience that I
pray will draw your heart, once again, back to where it all began. The love of God, when you pon-
der it’s vastness, is unimaginable when we see what He gave up for us. But this love He gave and
still gives today, compels us to draw near to the only Person who can offer Compassion, Peace, Pur-
pose and Forgiveness of our sins. His name is Jesus and He has so much in store for your life. So,
no matter where you are at in your walk of life… Jesus wants to speak Love into your life.
If you have not been in our Adult Choir for some time or have never been apart of a choir… I want
to encourage you to come to our Wednesday evening rehearsals that start @ 7:15pm. We will look
and listen to the music from the “Believe In Christmas” songbook at the beginning of each rehearsal,
to allow those who cannot stay the entire time… to be dismissed after we learn a little each
week. Please pray about joining us as we need more singers… and the more we have, the greater
our presentation will be. When many come together as one group… wonderful things take place!
