We Need Everyone to Participate!

Our parish continues to make progress as we work toward reaching our goal in the It’s Our Church, It’s
Our Future Campaign. Families can demonstrate their support to the campaign by filling out a pledge card
or pledge envelope.

Two weeks ago was Pledge Weekend. To the all families that made their commitment at that time or
since, we want to extend a special “Thank You!” for joining the families who were able to make their
gift. Thank you for your support!

Please help us build on this success and reach of goal of 100% participation by making your pledge to-
day! It is only through prayer and sacrifice that we can make this campaign a success. Please make your
gift soon to reduce the amount of followup contacts our volunteers will be making over the next few days.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

How will you DO thanks giving?
As a Nation we set aside a day to enjoy the
fruits of the harvest and to give thanks to God for all of our bless-
ings. Along with our Native American neighbors we know that eve-
ry day is a day to give thanks. After you pray, how do you DO
thanks? Some possibilities are: share your meal with someone, cook
only what you can eat with no waste, shop for locally grown foods.
How will you DO thanks this Thanksgiving?

CARE FOR OUR COMMON HOME? GOD’S
CREATION!

As Catholics we all care for God’s creation. Several people have
been meeting for almost 10 years to study and promote the
Church’s teachings, “Care For Our Common Home.” As we bring
our parishes together we are invited to join in this Environmental
Stewardship ministry. Any interested person from Our Lady of
Victory, St. John’s or St Peter’s is invited to gather at the Emmaus
Room (St. Peter’s) at noon on November 11
th
. Let us together
deepen our knowledge and commitment to that which supports our
life, all life, on God’s good earth.

FROM BISHOP LaValley: To Parents of our Children
RELAX! God put the wiggle in children; don't feel you have to suppress it in God's House. All are welcome to join us for
Mass in God's House. Sit toward the front where it is easier to see and hear. Quietly explain the parts of the Mass to your
children. Sing the hymns and songs, and pray the responses together. Children learn liturgical behavior
by copying you. If you must leave Mass with your child, please feel free to do so, but please come back.
As Jesus said, "Let the children come to Me."
Remember that the way we welcome children in Church directly affects the way they respond to the Church, to God and
to one another. Let them know that they are at home in This House of Worship. To the members of our Parish, a smile of
encouragement is always welcome to parents with small, active children. The presence of children is a gift to the
Church. They give us a future of hope.
