" To Teach or not to Teach"
The profession of a teacher has always been in demand. But lately fewer and fewer young teachers come working to the school. I wondered why this is happening. And in my project I’ve decided to study this problem.
Why the profession of a teacher has become less
popular nowadays?
A basic question
Hypothesis: the profession of a teacher has become less popular nowadays because it is not well-paid.
1. How did the attitude towards teaching profession change with the course of time?
What is more important to have a well-paid job or an interesting job?
What do teachers of our gymnasium think about their profession?
Problem questions
Education as a social institution has an incredible value in the destiny of society.
Educational process influences our perception of the world.
Education to moves humanity forward. From ancient times there have been people who
thought over such issues as how to make a fire, to hunt, to sing, and so on.
The experience and knowledge were accumulated and came over from generation to generation.
So the profession of a teacher appeared.
From the history of the profession
Education institutions in Russia were called “colleges”. The word “school” came into use, starting from the XIV century.
From the middle of XVII century in Moscow they began to open schools, using the European grammar schools as a model. They gave both secular and logical education.
To prove my hypothesis I interviewed ten teachers of my school:
- to the question “Would you use the opportunity to work in a private school?” seven teachers of ten answers “yes”.
Рractical part
"yes""no"
- to the question : “Do you love your job?” ten out of ten answered “yes”.
- to the question : “Can you get financial and emotional reward?”ten out of ten answered “yes”.
yesno
"yes""no"
- to the teacher question “How old should be a teacher to consider himself an experienced teacher?” the majority answered at least five years.
- to the question “whether teachers use modern technologies?” answered “yes” ten out of ten. "yes
"
All of interviewed teachers said that there are paid poorly. Their salary is not enough for keeping decent living conditions.
They have to work long hours, to give optional lessons, to have two jobs to meet both ends together.
My hypothesis has been confirmed: lately not very many students go to Pedagogical Institutes because teachers are poorly paid and this is not enough to meet their needs.
The next reason is that profession of teachers is not appreciated.
The situation may change if the government will enlarge the salaries of teachers and the profession will be again in demand and popular.
Conclusion
THANK YOU FOR YOUR
ATTENTION!!!
