دت الحكومة الهولندية تسعة قطاعات ذات اقتصاد قوي بشكل خاص. يشهد حدَّ
العديد من هذه القطاعات أيضاً معدالت منو رسيعة يف دول مجلس التعاون
الخليجي، ويوفر فرص متبادلة للرشكات الخليجية والهولندية للتعاون التجاري
واالقتصادي.
الخدمات اللوجستية: بوابة ألوروبا والخارج
تلعب هولندا دوراً رئيسياً يف اقتصاد العوملة، من خالل ربط املنتجني واملستهلكني يف
جميع أنحاء العامل عن طريق الخدمات اللوجستية املتطورة. يستند هذا النجاح عىل
موامئة البنية التحتية العرصية مع مقدمي الخدمات ذات املستوى العاملي، واملوقع

TOP SECTORLOGISTICS INDUSTRY
The Dutch government identified nine sectors in which the Dutch economy is particularly strong. Several of these sectors also see rapid growths in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and provide mutual opportunities for Emirati and Dutch businesses in trade and economic cooperation.
LOGISTICS: GATEWAY TO EUROPE AND BEYOND
The Netherlands plays a key role in the globalised economy, by connecting producers and consumers worldwide via so-phisticated logistics. The success is based on an alignment of cutting-edge infrastructure and world-class service providers, and the coastal location at the heart of Europe. Exemplary for this position are the Port of Rotterdam, Europe’s largest port by far, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, a major European cargo and passenger hub, and the Port of Amsterdam, with its spe-cial location close to the airport and the city of Amsterdam.
All three ports are supported by world-class logistics service providers and an extensive network of roads, railways, inland waterways and pipelines. This powerful combination has al-lowed the Netherlands to become the ‘Gateway to Europe’, accounting for significant parts of European road and water transport. Next to it the ports are hubs for other European and global destinations. The Netherlands also makes exten-sive use of Information Technology to deliver optimised sup-ply chain solutions in sectors where time is critical, such as food and flowers. In addition, the country is making pioneer-ing efforts in environmentally sustainable logistics and silent logistics.

Key aspects & strengths
- The Netherlands occupies a strategic position: it is central within Europe, and at the mouth of rivers, which reach deep into the economic and industrial heart of Europe. The Rhine has the greatest concentration of freight flows anywhere in the world. - The Netherlands is the country of choice for European Distri- bution Centres: 57 per cent of all American and Asian EDCs on the European continent are located in the Netherlands. The country hosts over 19 million square metres of distribu- tion centre capacity. This is equivalent to an area the size of some 3,000 soccer fields.- All major Dutch ports are serviced by companies specialising in storage, transhipment, industrial processing and auxil- iary services, as well as transport, packing, warehousing and distribution.- From the Port of Rotterdam, goods can be delivered to all major industrial and economic centres in Western and East- ern Europe in less than 24 hours.- The Netherlands is one of the leading road transport nations in Europe and the largest inland shipper. The Betuweroute, a dedicated double-track freight railway, enables rapid trans- port of containers and bulk goods from Rotterdam to Europe.- The Dutch inland navigation sector attracts worldwide atten- tion. With Europe’s largest innovative and differentiated fleet it offers a reliable, cost efficient and sustainable extension of maritime transport chains to the European hinterland (import and export).- The Netherlands developed the Neutral Logistics Informa- tion Platform (NLIP), the standard data communications platform for the industry.- Under the ‘Smart Cargo Hub for Europe’ initiative, Amster- dam Airport Schiphol, the Port of Amsterdam and the private sector aim to turn Amsterdam into the fastest and most- reliable multimodal hub for Europe.- The Netherlands is a leading country in electronic informa- tion sharing between port authorities and vessels.

- The Port of Rotterdam is being expanded with 1,000 hec- tares of industrial land where UAE’s DP World will be one of the major operators (www.maasvlakte2.com). Sixty-three per cent is being allocated to container transfer (with a maxi- mum processing capacity of 17 million TEU). Of Maasvlakte 2’s total of 1,000 ha, 400 ha has already been granted.

- Transport services (transport of goods and persons) account for around 22 per cent of Dutch service exports and 4.2 per cent of the total value of exports. Around 610,000 people are employed in the direct transport industry (715,000 if support activities are included).- Dutch inland shipping accounts for 54 per cent of all Euro- pean (EU 27) trade shipping. The Dutch fleet is with 6,500 (out of 13,500) vessels the biggest and most modern in Europe.- The World Economic Forum ranks the Netherlands first for the third consecutive time in quality of port infrastructure (2013/14), and fourth in quality of infrastructure in air traffic (2013/14).- Dutch transport companies account for about 13 per cent of all cross-border road transportation of goods (tons) within the EU.- Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is Europe’s third largest freight airport based on transported weight.- The Port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest port, with a surface of 12,600 ha, 80 transhipment terminals, employment of 150,000 people and a contribution of 3,3 per cent to GDP.- Some 34,000 seagoing vessels and 133,000 inland vessels pass through the port of Rotterdam every year.- The Netherlands has the second-greatest cooling and freez- ing storage capacity in Europe.
