governing the industries we serve.This quality approach has always been a prime factor for us. We have held API-5L
and API-5CT licenses since 1959. Currently, Tubacero is a member of the Technical Committee of the American Petroleum
Institute (API). Our labs have all the analysis and testing equipment required to
certify our products.
In 1989, Tubacero was certified API Q1 by the American Petroleum Institute, and in
1993 became the first manufacturer of pipe with straight longitudinal seam
welding to attain ISO-9002 certification in the Americas.
Currently, we are ISO 9001:2008 certified and licensed to use the API monogram for API SPEC 5L and API SPEC 5CT. We rank as
a reliable supplier to the major oil companies across the world.
Raw materials and shipping operations
To expedite raw material receiving and finished product shipping out of Plants I, II, and III, our infrastructure includes a 11,725 foot railway and spurs with a total capacity for 166 (57-foot) cars.
A similar railway and spurs serve Plant IV, with a receiving capacity for 32 cars.
Our storage facilities can accommodate approximately 50,000 metric tons of raw materials and 80,000 metric tons of finished goods.
Our capacity forunloading raw materials is 20 gondolas or flat cars and 40 trucks per day, with a 1,200 metric ton capacity in each case.

Tubacero’s plants are strategically located to receive raw materials and ship finished products to and from:• Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas: 143mi by road or 165mi by railway.• Brownsville TX: 213mi by road or 220mi by railway.• Tampico, Tamaulipas: 329mi by road or 323mi by railway.
Our finished product loading equipment includes:• Front loaders with 20,000 and 30,000 pound capacities, respectively.• Hydraulic cranes with 360° rotation with a 22,000-pound capacity each.• Mechanical cranes with 360° rotation and a 22,000-pound capacity.• Overhead crane with a 44,000-pound capacity.• A locomotive with 1,800 metric ton dragging capacity.• A trackmobile with 250 metric ton dragging capacity.

ADVANTAGES OF STEEL PIPE USE
Tensile Resistance
Steel pipes generally support work efforts on wall thickness by 1,000 to 2,000 kg/cm2, allowing higher
diameter/thickness ratio, normally greater than 100. Compression resistance is similar to tension resistance.
In-Service Life
According to statistical references, there are steel pipe lines installed with in-service life expectancy between
80 and 100 years. It is essential to assess the project compared to other materials.
Cost
Regarding the pipe it is necessary to assess the initial total cost, taking into account the stroke,
complementing it with the in-service life. Steel pipe installation costs are lower due to its lower weight
provides more agile maneuver, ditches are narrower and time is shorter due to fewer amount of field joints.
Another advantage is that maintenance is easier and faster and therefore more economic.
Transmission Capacity
Steel pipes transmission capacity increases depending on increment of speed/pressure ratio in operation. As an
example, the Mina Monterrey aqueduct was installed in 1954 with a transmission capacity of 750 L/sec.;
However, needs forced to operate it until 1980 with a capacity of 1,200 L/sec.
Steel Ductility
Steel pipe accepts high deformation without fracturing adapting it to terrain topography, saving length. We
can say that the steel pipe is ideal for use in seismic areas.
Emergency Conditions
Steel pipe has great resistance to withstand impact, vibration, mudslides, blows battering ram, etc. Supported
in stairways can be installed in a big open landscape.
Hermetic Joints
Due to steel pipe joints are made on field through welding jointing, it’s fully hermetic condition is achieved to
eliminate leakage of transmission line.
