DRILLING & TUNNELING

GETECH HIGH-PERFOMANCE CENTRIFUGES IN TUNNELLING & DRILLING (available also for smaller sizes)

Technical data may be changed according to our continuous improvement

Humans have always shaped the nature according to their needs. The first tunnels were created by Greeks around 520 BC. Today, as the world population is exponentially increasing, the need to strengthen underground communication ways is requiring a significant commitment by those mining technologies that are gathering around the art of tunneling. Today’s infrastructure depend heavily on the use of alternative ways of transport and communication, to relieve overloaded roads and to reduce air and noise pollution levels in crowded cities. Hence the need to solve the problems of drilling the “soft” soils. The consolidation technology, like for example jet grouting, provides procedures for excavation but presents a logistic and environmental problem: water drainage.

Modern Tunnel excavation technologies (Hydro shield Technology), but also foundations construction technology include the use of a bentonite slurry to seal the freshly excavated well walls and, after the use, this slurry has to be cleaned from excavations solids and separated from water. Here the use of a centrifuge has double function, the first will be to separate bentonite from the excavation slurry in order to be recycled and the second is to separate water from solids. Cleaned water can be reused in the bentonite slurry recirculation system and the dry solids can be recycled or disposed of.

Something similar happens with soil drilling technologies: the continuous search for alternative energy sources like natural gases and geothermal power has brought to a great development of vertical drilling technologies with a consequent production of huge volumes of drilling mud which has to be lightened.

Tunneling and soil drilling mud usually contains sand, clay, silt, but also suspensions of cement and bentonite. These are generally considered quite complex sludge to be treated, because of their high abrasiveness, viscosity and density, therefore the need of high performance and wear resistance centrifugal systems becomes essential.

Getech centrifugal technology can rely on 30 year experience and we have built up extensive knowledge in processing sludge from Tunneling and vertical soil drilling. We are able to offer solutions for individual applications using the very best technology and our own processing experience.

ADVANTAGES OF THE GETECH WATER AND SLUDGE TREATMENT SYSTEM:/ Specifically designed to cope with abrasive slurry./ Small footprint of the system in the plant area/ Supply of complete turn-key plant containerized or only Decanter/ Unmanned operations after start-up/ Production of a dry, manageable cake, easy to be transported and can be used as bulk material./ Reduces freshwater consumption and costs/ Low maintenance, operation and cleaning effort./ Trouble-free operation, great washing performance due to clean washing water./ Continuous automatic adjustment of scroll speed to maintain cake dryness and throughput./ Environment friendly, no soil pollution/ Designed and manufactured 100 % in Italy / ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 certification/ Fully automated operation with our Gennaretti Software/ Possibility to manage customer ancillary equipment/ In - house R&D, engineering and production

DRILLING & TUNNELING

FIELDS OF APPLICATION:/ Tunnel construction with Hydro shield technology.

/ Recovery of bentonite from weighted mud in vertical drilling applications.

/ Lightening sludge from the construction of foundations.

/ Lightening sludge from geothermal drilling technology.

/ Lightening sludge from hydro fracturing technologies.

/ Sludge Dewatering

Getech srl has been manufacturing their centrifugal systems and plants for solid-liquid separation since 1983. Thanks to

a unique, strong frame design and to the use of premium raw materials and

components, Gennaretti centrifuges can be employed across every sludge

treatment process: mining, tunneling, but also petroleum and chemical industry.

The equipment can go from the simple centrifuge to a turn-key plant.

A very popular and smart solution is our mobile plant build in 20’ or 40’

industrial containers, easy to transport to remote areas and quick to install, able

to manage sludge volumes going from 5 to 150 m3 per hour. Our technology

and design, let us supply a centrifuge system from 120-140 m3/h integrated in

only 20’ container.Getech is your leading supplier

with gennaretti decanters.
