followed by Ms. Narwani Neha CPI 8.71 who secured university 6th position in the
university ranking. Mr. Dave Shyam secured third rank in the institute.

INSPECTIONS AND APPROVALS
1. On 16th – 17th of June, 2016, a surprise inspection was observed from Pharmacy council of India, New Delhi. Tolani Institute of Pharmacy got PCI approval for the academic year 2016-2017.
2. On 18th May, 2015 a team of Local Inspection committee visited Tolani Institute of Pharmacy from GTU. The institute is affiliated to GTU, Ahmedabad.
3. Tolani Institute of pharmacy is also approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) upto academic year 2016-17.
FACULTY ACHIEVEMENTS
1. Dr. Richa Dayaramani is nominated as a member of M.Pharm Syllabus committee by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.
2. She is also elected as Vice President - Gujarat state in Association of pharmacy teachers of India for 2016-2019. We congratulate her and wish her good wishes for her future endeavors.
3. Dr. Richa Dayaramani was invited to Shri Dhanwantary college of Pharmacy Kim for chairing the scientific session. The theme of the conference was “Theranostic Particles – breakthrough in pharmaceutical research” on 14th and 15th of April, 2016. She judged the scientific poster presentation session for pharmaceutical analysis and quality assurance stream. She also presented a poster on “Herbal methods for lowering fluoride in potable water” as a part of the minor research project grant awarded to her by GUJCOST, Gandhinagar.
4. Dr. (Mrs.) Richa Dayaramani was an expert faculty for three sessions during 1 week training program at TFGP Adipur from 18th to 22nd June 2016.

5. Mrs. Manisha Sodha, Dr. Richa Dayaramani, Mrs. Amita Patel, Mr. B S Modi and Mr. Trikamji Aghara attended two days pharmacist refresher course organized by TIP on 9th-10th April sponsored by Gujarat State Pharmacy Council, Gandhinagar. This is a mandatory requirement for renewal of pharmacist license.
FAREWELL
Mrs. Sunita Rupani, lab assistant and Mr. Gopal Panwar, head clerk were bid an
emotional and nostalgic farewell to mark their service to the institute. Mrs. Rupani
served the institute for 30 years and retired on 30/06/2016 and Mr. Gopal Panwar
retired on 30/07/2016 after serving the organisation for 30 years.
All the staff members of TIP family wish them a happy and healthy retired life ahead.
Mr. Ramchandra, sweeper expired on 17th and left for heavenly abode. He had served
the institute for 30 years and the TIP family prays from almighty to give strength to his
family to bear the irrecoverable loss. As a gesture of humanity, the staff members along
with campus director contributed and helped the family of late Shri Ramchandra with a
sum of Rs. 10,000 (approx).
ACADEMIC AND CIRRICULAR ACTIVITIES
1. Pharmacist refresher course: Tolani institute of pharmacy organized two days Pharmacist Refresher Course on 9th – 10th of April, 2016 at Adipur in which 250 pharmacists participated. It was well received by the pharmacist fraternity and the efforts well greatly appreciated. Overall the event was a huge success. Mrs. Manisha Sodha, incharge principal was the convenor, Dr. Richa Dayaramani was the coordinator and Mr. Bhupendra Modi was the co-coordinator of the program. The two days refresher course for the pharmacists was sponsored by Gujarat State
Pharmacy Council, Ahmedabad. Eminent speakers were Dr. Chetan Vora, Dr. Bhavesh Bhatt, Dr. Dhaval Patel, Ms. Bhumita Hadiya, DI and other eminent persons from the field.The program was patronized by Mrs. Anjana Hazari, Chairperson, GCB and was supported by Mr. Laxman Daryani, campus director, GCB.
2. Healthcare and awareness programs: The students of TIP attended an awareness lecture on Breast cancer on 30/07/2016 at Rotary bhawan, Gandhidham. The speaker was Dr. Devalben Gandhi from New Jersey, USA. The event was organized by Shri Ramkrishna Sewa Trust, Gandhidham. The students were escorted by the faculty Dr. R A Dayaramani and Mrs. A H Patel.
On 20/08/2016, Mr Gyandev Sharma (Muskan), poet and yogacharya, gave an orientation and motivational lecture cum demonstration to the students and staff
of TIP on an exercise package called Magic box with water therapy, food therapy and laughing therapy which will curb the lifestyle disorders prevailing in the society.
A yoga awareness program for girls was organized by TIP on 14th Aug, 2015 under the training and guidance of Prof. Trisunita Patel, TCAS, Adipus. She demonstrated various exercises to the female students and staff for their routine health maintenance.
On 21/0612015, on the occasion of International Yoga Day all the students and staff of TIP gathered at Gopal stadium in common Yoga abhyaskrama along with the other members of the Tolani Vidya Mandir campus, Police department and NCC cadets.
3. Three laboratory equipments namely pH meter with fluoride ion electrode, conductivity meter and electronic balance were purchased as a part of minor research project awarded to Dr. Richa Dayaramani as principal investigator by GUJCOST in Sep 2015.
4. As a part of Azadi 70 celebrations various activities were observed in TIP campus from 09th – 23rd August, 2016. The major activities include Essay competition, awareness lecture on Freedom movement by Mr. Mahesh Prajapati, faculty, TIP, preparation of greeting cards for soldiers etc. The TIP family observed national anthem on 23rd August 2016 to honour our great nation.
5. Career counseling programs were organized by Mr. Bhupendra Modi and Dr. Richa Dayaramani, faculty TIP, for students of class XII science stream at various schools of Gandhidham – Adipur – Anjar complex. The major schools covered are Swami Vivekananda High school, Anjar, Indirabai girls school, Bhuj, P N Amersy High School, Gandhidham, Govt. High school Mundra, Swaminarayan high school Bhuj etc. They briefed the students regarding the opportunities and scope of Diploma pharmacy course and general career guidance for the students regarding different career options and courses to opt for after passing Class XII.
6. Pharmacist day celebration: On 25th Spetember, 2015 International Pharmacist Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students and staff of TIP. Dr. Jiya Shahani, Chief pharmacist, KPT delivered a lecture on “True dispensing practice” and graced the occasion as an alumnus of the institute. Various competitions engaging the students were organized like Poster making competition, Role play, elocution, slogan writing competition etc. The pharmacist’s oath was pledged by the staff and students of the institute.
Vote of thanks was given by Mrs. M N Sodha, Incharge Principal.
7. Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan: On 20th July, 2015 a quiz competition was organized in association with Gandhidham Municipality to promote Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan. All mthe students participated in the quiz and Abhishek Thakkar, Narwani Neha and Mangaliya Mittal secured the top three positions in order.
A cleanliness drive was carried out in the institute onm 16th Spet, 2015 along with an elocution competition on the topic “Our role and responsibilities in cleanliness drive”. The winners are Borde Snehal (FY) first, Patel Khushali (FY) second and Prajapati Narendra (FY) at third position.
A swachhta pledge was taken under National students engagement campaign after completion of the activities at institute level.
8. Women safety and awareness program was organized by the police department Adipur and all the girls visited the police station along with Mrs. Amita Patel, faculty, TIP on 1st Aug, 2015.
A poster competition was organized on the theme “Save girl child and educate girl child” on 2nd Aug, 2015 where by all the students took active participation.
On 10/08/15 a guest lecture by Dr. Kanchan Sondhera, BHMS was conducted on the topic “Women sanitation awareness” at the institute. Dr. Kanchan is an alumnus of Tolani Institute of Pharmacy.
On 20/08/2015, Rifle firing practice session was organized by police department, Gandhidham under Surakhsha Setu Society whereby all the girl students along with Dr. Richa Dayaramani were given hands on training for rifle shooting.
9. Spiritual and personality development program was organised by Sahaj yog dhyan Kendra at Tolani Institute of law for 1 hour of self realization. The students of TIP participated in the program. 12 students participated in a workshop on “Steps to develop self confidence” organized by Shri Ramkrishna Ashram Rajkoty and Tolani Vidya Mandir.
10. A demonstration of 108 emergency services was done by GVK – EMRI personnel on 11th Jan, 2016. The students and staff of TIP actively interacted with the demonstrators Mr. Chetan Gadhe and his team who explained the need, importance and effectiveness of 108 emergency services. The students got to enhance their knowledge regarding – how to render first aid in case of fractures, heart attacks, cardiac arrest, shock and related conditions and how to handle and transfer the victim and how to apply spincture. They demonstrated medical equipments like Pulse oxymeter, ECG machine, Sphygmomanometer, various bandages, ventilator, emergency delivery kit etc and briefed some of their experiences to the students.
11. An Industrial visit at Ipca Laboratories, KASEZ, Gandhidham was conducted on 9th
Jan, 2016 for the students of SYD Pharm along with Mr. Bhupendra Modi. The students got an opportunity to see the state of art facilities for manufacturing b-lactam antibiotics. Mr. Pragnesh Pathak, GM (operations) briefed the students regarding various departments and their activities pertaining to stores, manufacturing and packaging of pharmaceuticals in drysyrup and capsule formulations.On 30/01/2016 a visit to Rambaug Hospital was made for SY students with Mrs. A H Patel, faculty, TIP. The students visited the various sections of the hospital, role of pharmacists in drug dispensing, medicine storage practices, various health programs run by government, ASHA workers etc.
12. Under Pulse polio eradication program, 27 students of TIP rendered their active services from 17-19th Jan, 2016. On 8th Jan, 2016 the students attended a training session conducted by Dr. Aghravat, Urban medical officer (UMO) and Mr. Pradip Meghani, Pharmacist, as a training for national program for polio eradication. Basic information about program, storage of OPV, marking procedure and documentation were taught to the students. 51 students of FY and SY participated in the program.
13. Thallasaemia detection camp was organized for the students of Tolani Institute of
Pharmacy on 25th Jan, 2016 in association with Lioness Club of Gandhidham. An
awareness lecture on Thallasaemia was delivered by Lioness Neha Vora to the
students and informed them about the various facets of the disorder. 52 students
were screened for Thallasaemia and out of them 4 were found positive for
Thallasaemia minor. Dr. Richa Dayaramani organized the camp from institute side.
14. Blood donation camp was organized by TIP in association with Lioness Club of
Gandhidham on 25th Jan, 2016 at IMA Rajabhai Patel Blood bank, Gandhidham and
2100 cc of blood was donated by the students and staff of TIP.
SPORTS
1. Mr. Lohar Yasin of SYD Pharm bagged second position in 57kg weight range in power lifting competition. He lifted 215 kg in squat, bench press and dead lift categories.
2. Ms. Drishti Pokar (FYD) and Ms. Borde Snehal participated in Tolani intercollegiate Table tennis tornament and gave a tough fight.
3. In Tolani Intercollegiate Badminton tournament, Neha Badole and Pokar Drishti were second runner ups.
4. Mr. Bhanasi Jagdish (FYD) was second runner up in 50 mt. breast stroke swimming competition organized by Tolani Intercollegiate sports board.
