This temple village is situated in West Midnapur district of West Bengal and bank of River Kasai. This place is historically and culturally significant. At present there are 34 terracotta temples are situated and these are architecturally magnificent and significant. These temples were established by different land lord’s patronization in different times at Pathra. Different styles of temple like Chala, Ratna, Rekha, Dalan, Deul etc. are founded in the temple designs of Pathra yet today. Particularly terracotta plaques fixed on temples comprises valuable elements for reconstructing the mythological, historical and socio cultural heritage. Incredible architectural and decorative skills can be traced through the terracotta temples of Pathra village. These are unique picas of Art and Architecture. Architectural style and designing style of the temples of this area reveal the profundity of the artisan. Moreover, the temple architecture of Pathra village reveals a rich heritage of the Indian architecture. The present paper will analyze the style, types, theme, designs and motif of these terracotta temples of ‘Temple Village’ Pathra. Keywords: Temple, Terracotta, Architecture, Structure, Motif, Plaque, Decoration ১. বূভা: া াই নদীয তীযফতজী Űভ টভদনীুকযয সে টছা াভ র াথযা। ফবĻ ইতাফদ ও ুযাতĖফদ সই াভক ‘ভĵযভয় াথযা’ ফকর উকŮখ কযকছন। যাকেয সই টছা াভেকত সভয় অকনƳর টেযাকাোয ভĵয তŹত কয়ছর, তকফ তায ি ংখযা আজ আয জানা মায় না। ফতজভাকন সই াভেকত ত ও অত অফƉায় ৩৪ ে ভĵয যকয়কছ। ফবĻ জভদাযকদয ৃŹকালতায় ফবĻ ভকয় াথযায় সই ভĵযƳর তŹত কয়ছর। ‘ভĵযভয়’ সই াভেকত চারা, যĘ, দারান, ভঞ, যĘ, টদউর বৃত যীতয ভĵকযয তŹা কয়ছর। গিনযীতয দ টথক তযই সখানা য ভĵযƳর অবনফ। Ǘধু গিনযীত নয় ফতজভাকন ভĵযƳরয অফয়ফ টদখকর টফাঝা মায় খুফ উĻত ভাকনয টেযাকাোয অরংযকণ ভৃġ ছর সখানায ভĵযƳর। তকফ াকরয ড়ার াক সফং ি ংƀায ও ংযকণয অবাকফ সখানায ফǧ ভĵয সফং ভĵকযয অরংযণ নŷ কয় টগকছ। তফুও ুযাতাĖ বফকŷয বযা সই াকভ ফǧ টদী ফকদী মজে, গকফল, ুযাতĖফকদযা আকন ভĵযভয় াথযায টেযাকাো ভĵয Ɖাতয মজকফণ যকত।
