THE PROBLEMTTo meet the global demands for long-term care provision, informal Carers are an essenal resource. Yet, their contribuons to sustainable health-care oen go unrecognized, uncredited and under-valued. This coupled with the growing social, emoonal and economic pressures experienced as the result of being a Carer, is a crical need that must be systemically addressed.

THE STRATEGYAniAnil is working to create a global movement which recognizes and sup-ports the efforts of informal Carers through advocacy and policy change. His organizaon Carers Worldwide partners with local organizaons to establish ‘Carer support groups’, in order to meet the emoonal, educa-onal and economic needs specific to Carers in that community.

THE IMPACTCarers Worldwide affects the lives of more than 300 Carers in India and 1,500 in Nepal. Of the Carers supported in India, 55% of them have se-cured economically producve acvies to help them support their fam-ilies. By the end of 2015, Carers Worldwide will affect the lives of more than 3,000 Carers and an esmated 12,000 family members.

SUSTAINABILITYCarers Worldwide has partnerships with The Department for Internaon-al Development in the United Kingdom, The Commonwealth Foundaon and World Vision India. Anil also looks to sustain his work through naon-ally held consultaon workshops on the support of Carers in healthcare.
