Camp Green Lake
We have now read enough chapters to get two settings of Camp Green Lake. One setting is the one with Stanley and one setting is with Sam and Kate Barlow. Write down some differences and similarities in the Venn diagram of the two settings that we can use when we create our maps for different eras.

Journal Entry
Zero and Stanley are approaching gods thumb and times are pretty tough. Write from the point of view of Stanley. Consider some of these questions when writing this journal. Why are we going to Gods Thumb ? How did Zero manage to survive out here ? What will we find atop of Gods Thumb ? Will we ever go back to Camp Green Lake ? You may use your novel to get details from.

It seems like fate has brought Stanley and Zero together. Fate is when events happen that are out of your control. Can you think of when Fate has affected your life ? Has fate helped you or hurt you ? As a class we will write down some ideas of fate be sure to record the ideas we discuss.

Drama Tableau
Think of your favourite book character it doesn't have to be from Holes. What are some characteristics of that character. What shapes and poses can you show that display this character. Write down some of these characteristics.
From these ideas display a Tableau of this character one half of the class will perform their Tableau, the other will observe then we will switch.
As groups you will now perform a Tableau of a scene from Holes. You will be given your scene by the teacher and assigned a group. In your group remember to portray all the characters involved as well as try and give the feel of the setting. You will need a narrator to read the scene while the rest of your group performs. You will perform in front of the class.
