St John the Baptist Church Lowick St John the Baptist’s Church Lowick Appointment of a replacement priest in charge for Lowick Parish Dear Parishoner, You will know that the Revd. Victor Dickinson retired as Vicar of Lowick Parish at the end of January and that we are now at the first stages of arranging to appoint someone to replace him. Unfortunately, this does not happen immediately as the church applies a system of interregnum where for a period of usually a year or eighteen months (sometimes longer) no new appointment is made. As part of the process of appointing a new priest in charge of the parish we need to produce a parish profile setting out the nature of the parish and the local communities which it serves. This is not something that as members of the church we can do on our own but should involve everyone within the community. In order to carry out this consultation you will see a questionnaire attached to this letter which we would be very grateful if you could fill in. This will give us a better idea of the kind of contribution you see the church and a new vicar making to the community of Lowick and the surrounding area. Do get in touch with us if there are any further questions you have about the appointment of a new priest in charge and the role of the church within the local community.

Appointment of a replacement priest in charge for Lowick Parish

Dear Parishoner,

You will know that the Revd.

Yours faithfully,

John Daniels

As a resident of the Parish of Lowick and/or a regular worshipper at St John the

Baptist Church, the P.C.C (Parochial Church Council) would like your help to provide

a good and descriptive account of the Parish that will be reflected in the Parish

Profile which we are asked to provide as the basis for the process we need to go

through in seeking a new Vicar for the Parish. If you could answer the questions

below and add any other comments you might have, this would be very useful.

Question 2. What role do you think the church should play in the life of

Lowick and the local community?

Question 3. What do you see as the greatest challenges for the

Parish ?

Question 4. What would enable you to have a greater involvement

in the life of the church ?
