www.Knights4698.org July 2019 Grand Knight’s Thoughts Well…..another busy month (and year is now behind us). I would first of all like to thank our most recent Past Grand Knight, Bill Krueger for an OUTSTANDING year!! Bill along with his OFFICER’s led us through a very successful year, both financially and fraternally. During the past year we were able to add (28) new members and were able to collect over $39,000 for our ID Drive. We were also able to donate $4,000 for vocations, prepare many, many lunches for Pro Labore Dei and collect (168) pints of blood at our blood drives throughout the year. These are just a few of the wonderful accomplishments we attained over the past year! We say good bye to the Officers of the 2018-2019 fraternal year and welcomed the Officers of the 2019- 2020 fraternal year. This year also included a change in Financial Secretary as Dave Whitaker completed his three year term. THANK YOU Dave, for your direction with Supreme and commitment to the Knights! Our new Financial Secretary is John Brett. Thanks for stepping up John, on this responsibility! The elections were conducted by our Worthy Vice-Supreme Master, Paul

Grand Knight’s Thoughts

Well…..another busy month (and year is now behind us).

We say good bye to the Officers of the 2018-2019 fraternal year and welcomed the Officers of the 2019-2020 fraternal year. This year also included a change in Financial Secretary as Dave Whitaker completed his three year term. THANK YOU Dave, for your direction with Supreme and commitment to the Knights! Our new Financial Secretary is John Brett. Thanks for stepping up John, on this responsibility! The elections were conducted by our Worthy Vice-Supreme Master, Paul Isherwood, on June 6th. The new Officers were then installed on June 20th. It is my hope, to lead OUR council in the upcoming year, and continue our STRONG tradition of building fraternity and charity.

We had another busy month in June…. During the month, two priests celebrated their 25th anniversaries, Bishop Ron Hicks (started his ministry at St. Elizabeth Seton) and Fr. Tom Bernas (Pastor at St. Stephen’s). We also had another successful Pro Labore Dei (6/15) as we were able to make and deliver over (300) lunches for the people of Robbins. It was an extra special effort as the other group we were partnered with was unable to help. I understand that we made 300+ sandwiches in about (40) minutes. What a wonderful job by the members and their families who helped out. Our final blood drive of the year was held on June 26th at St. Elizabeth Seton’s O’Mara Hall. We were able to collect (51) units of blood, we had targeted (35). This was another fine effort by Tim Sajewski and his TEAM of volunteers and the wonderful support from St. Seton Parish. We also participated

in the Build A Home project at St George. This is a program run by Cross Roads Mission that was supported by the (5) local parishes. Finally, an Honor Guard was held (6/23) at St. Damian for Corpus Christie. The current regalia will no longer be wore, effective 7/1/19. Thank you to the gentlemen who were able to attend this event. To quote our most recent PGK, “As we move into the warmer weather, vacations, family events, etc., let’s not deny ourselves our need to continue to do good works and continue our prayers. At times many of us find ourselves moving so quickly we wonder where the day went. It’s easy to do, but we need to take each day, and give Thanks. We shouldn’t have to wait for a holiday, or Lent or any other holiday when we then stop and say that extra prayer, or maybe reach out to someone that’s hurting, so ask yourself….why wait? Be proud to be a Catholic, be proud to be a Knight, SPREAD the word.”

THANK EACH OF YOU FOR YOUR CHARITY, UNITY, FRATERNITY AND PATRIOTISM! WE SHOULD BE READY TO ASSIST ANYONE WITH A NEW IDEA OR BETTER WAY TO GIVE SERVICE TO OTHERS. AS YOU’VE HEARD FROM MANY OF OUR BROTHERS – OUR COUNCIL’S STRENGTH COMES FROM EACH ONE OF OUR EFFORTS.

IF EVERY ONE DOES A LITTLE, NO ONE DOES IT ALL.

Vivat Jesus Fraternally John Concannon - Grand Knight
