FIRST TUESDAY CLUB A ‘ROUND – UP’ OF EVENTS AND ITEMS FOR SALE Please find below items within your Club that you may have missed/been involved in, or would just simply enjoy a reminder of enjoyable times. Also at the end of the events past, are notices of items that are available from other members, either for sale or to be ‘given away. QUIZ NIGHT Yet again very many thanks to Don for spending so much of his time in ensuring that this evening generated the ‘brains of many’ to be taxed to the maximum. It is not easy to generate so many interesting questions that do not always bring the ‘correct’ answer! (Time is always available on the golf course – so that is where he must find his inspiration). As Don could not generate this evening without the help of Val, many thanks must go to Val. Soup was served by your committee and from the remarks, was much appreciated. MARCH BINGO EVENING Our thanks to Charlie for giving us such an excellent Bingo evening that over-ran, through its popularity, the planned event. Our thanks to all our members who helped us organise this evening. Both committee members as well as all those not on our committee (as-yet!!), who helped to ensure that the ploughman’s supper was a success.

FIRST TUESDAY CLUB

A ‘ROUND – UP’ OF EVENTS AND ITEMS FOR SALEPlease find below items within your Club that you may have missed/been involved in, or would just simply enjoy a reminder of enjoyable times. Also at the end of the events past, are notices of items that are available from other members, either for sale or to be ‘given away.

QUIZ NIGHT

Yet again very many thanks to Don for spending so much of his time in ensuring that this evening generated the ‘brains of many’ to be taxed to the maximum.

MARCH BINGO EVENING

Our thanks to Charlie for giving us such an excellent Bingo evening that over-ran, through its popularity, the planned event.

Our thanks to all our members who helped us organise this evening. Both committee members as well as all those not on our committee (as-yet!!), who helped to ensure that the ploughman’s supper was a success.

APRIL CHANGE TO PROGRAMED CALENDAR

A ‘tear and share’ supper followed by a karaoke.

Our thanks must go to both Frederique and her team of ‘professionals’ for ensuring that the music brought the ‘best’ from our member’s vocal chords!

VE DAY EVENING

The programmed picnic had, due to weather, to be moved into the Salle. Time stood still for many members who appeared in the dress of the period. Again, many thanks to so many members who helped in ensuring that the evening was so well acclaimed. Our thanks must also go to Annette’s grandson Lucas who ably assisted in the evening’s events.

Diana certainly was the ‘soul’ of the evening as her music and songs entertained us without pause.

OTHER EVENTS

As requested by Marconne school your Club laid on a special ‘sausage and bacon butty’ breakfast, served with copious quantities of tomato ketchup. The glee on the faces of the children said everything that needed to be said. “What, no more”!!

Your Club also for the school organised an Easter-egg hunt within the grounds of the Salle de Fetes. The children had great fun finding the hidden eggs which were then shared out between all the children.

A ‘cream-tea’ afternoon for the school is to be held sometime in the future. Date to be arranged.

LOOKING FORWARD

Our June evening is as you will see from the calendar is an outdoor Petanque competition. It is hoped that for those who may not be involved in petanque that Suzie and Mick Dunn may be organising a ‘walking football’ competition. More of this will follow nearer the time.

There will also be a ‘plant exchange’ for all the gardening enthusiasts within the club.

As your Club is not producing any food for this evening, may we invite you to bring any food that you may wish to consume. The bar as always will be open for beverages.

Let us hope for good weather!!
