Diagram BProper mounting of the Cylinder Head Temperature Gauge

If you must bend the sender, do so asshown in the insert in Diagram C.

1. Run wires (minimum 16-gauge,stranded) from the instrument locationthrough the firewall to:

a) the light switch (after the fusein the fuse box);

Wiring the Gauge:

NOTE: If your vehicle uses tapered sparkplugs, or if the sender wont fit because ofa recessed spark plug location, install thesender underneath any accessible headbolt. First put the bolt through a copperwasher [large enough to cover the senderring], then through the sender ring, theninto the engine block.

b) a good ground location (i.e.,where the negative () batterypole is bolted to the chassis ofthe vehicle);c) the connector from thesender wire.

2. Run the extension cable (signalwires)from the back of the gauge to thelocation of the temperature sender.

3. Connect the appropriate positive (+),ground (negative []) wires to the gaugeand gauge lamp socket as shown in Dia-gram D.

4. Push together the male and femalesocket halves (from the back of the gaugeand from the sender). Secure any surplusextension wire underneath the dashboard.Avoid crimping the wire.

At this point, installation and wiring arecomplete. Start the engine to make surethe gauge and gauge light work properly.
