Fabulous and Innovative Food

What drives Culinary Edge is our passion for food and exploring all

the wonderful cuisines enjoyed in Australia. With an abundance of

fresh ingredients available to us, combined with creative chefs,

Culinary Edge embrace this cultural diversity to stay at the forefront

of the catering field, sharing our vision and enthusiasm with

customers, colleagues, family & friends.

Our cocktail menus take you on a food journey, each mouthful an

explosion of flavour, from the fragrant cooking styles of South East

Asia, through the pungent spices of the Middle East, to the more

subtle flavours of France and Italy. Sit down menus are put

together with an eye to balance, freshness and generosity. Classic

European cooking techniques paired with modern flavours deliver a

contemporary Australian cuisine.

Charles Wilkins started Culinary Edge in 1995 to offer quality food

and service to the special events industry, and we quickly became

the caterer of choice for high profile events in the media,

performing arts and financial industries. Soon we were awarded

contracts to operate the catering and Restaurant at the Museum of

Contemporary Art, followed by the Bistro and bars at Sydney

Theatre in Walsh Bay.

Simon Fox started his career in London working in some of the

finest Michelin star restaurants. He has led the food direction and

kitchen brigade at Culinary Edge for over 15 years, and brings with

him a wealth of experience gained from Europe and Australia.

Whether catering a VIP lunch in a boardroom or a black tie dinner

for 1000 guests, his dedication and attention to detail ensures each

event exceeds a customer’s expectation.

Grana Padano is a hard, slow-ripened, semi-fat cheese from Italy, made from cows' milk produced in the

Po River valley. Italy's classic hard, slow-ripened, semi-fat cheese. Grana Padano has been part of Italy's

proud gastronomic tradition and culture since the dawn of the second millennium. Matured for over 18

months, Grana Padano has a grainy texture hence its name Grana.

A refined cheese with a balanced appearance and sweet smell. A rind which is velvety and has a slight

spots. The flavour is rich and condensed, showing slightly sweet and even smoky elements

Crop Well Bishop Stilton - Nottinghamshire, England

This cheese is full, rich and creamy with complex flavours of honey, leather, tobacco and molasses. The

aroma is huge and spicy; the rind is edible and very pungent. The cheese is crumbly yet firm enough to

cut. Stilton has a dry brown rough rind around a creamy ivory paste with liberal blueing that spreads all

the way to the edges.

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW EARLY CAN MY EVENT COMMENCE

Your venue hire agreement with the MCA will provide the access time to the venue, this

is to include the set up time for your event. Generally we require 1 – 2 hours for a

Cocktail style event or 3 – 4 hours for a dinner event, subject to the event

requirements. In all instances access to the terrace area of the venue is after 5pm for set

up and events are able to commence from 6pm.

Additional access time is to be arranged in the first instance direct with the MCA,

additional fees may apply.

CAN I JUST PAY FOR THE FOOD AND BRING IN MY OWN ALCOHOL

No, MCA Venues are not BYO venues. If you would like to bring in your own beverages,

a full house beverage package must be purchased for the duration and confirmed

numbers of your event.

CAN I HAVE BOTTLES ON THE TABLE/GUESTS POUR THEIR OWN DRINKS

No, due to RSA regulations, all alcoholic beverages are required to be served by an RSA

certified staff member. There will be table service from wait staff on the night.

IS THERE FLEXIBILTY WITH YOUR SUGGETSED MENUS

Yes absolutely - We are always happy to create bespoke menus and make changes to

meet your preferences, including cultural specific menus.

CAN I BRING IN MY OWN CATERING

No, Culinary Edge are the exclusive caterers for the Foundation Hall & Garden Terrace,

all food and beverage must be provided by Culinary Edge.

HOW ARE DIETARY REQUIREMENTS MANAGED

Once we have received a full list of the dietary meals required for your event, our chefs

will create dishes that encompass all the dietary requirements. Unfortunately we are

unable to confirm requests for dietary meals.

CAN WE REMOVE THE TERRACE FURNITURE

After 5pm the 4 x picnic tables can move within the terrace space itself.

The umbrellas cannot be removed and can be open or closed for your event, weather

dependant. The wooden shelves and pot plants are not able to be moved.

HOW MANY PEOPLE FIT AT EACH TABLE

Our 1.5m round and 1.2m square tables both fit a maximum of 8 people. We

are always happy to hire some larger tables from our suppliers - additional

costs apply.

WHAT DO THE VENUE CHAIRS LOOK LIKE - DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER

OPTIONS

The venue chairs are white Bellini chairs. You are welcome to hire in different

styles. We can recommend some top suppliers

WHAT OTHER FURNITURE IS INCLUDED

The venue has 5 high top bar cocktail tables. Similar style stools can be hired

through Culinary Edge. Two clothed trestle tables for guests arrival

registration are also available.

WHAT COLOUR LINEN IS INCLUDED

We stock white linen tablecloths and napkins. We are able to hire in Black at

an additional cost. If you would like any other colours we can recommend

some great suppliers.
