ανάγνωσης του κόσμου που μας περιβάλλει... Η καλλι-τεχνική προσέγγιση αναδεικνύει μερικές από τις ιδιό-τητες της πολλαπλής φύσης της και συγχρόνως γίνεται το ιδανικό εργαλείο έκφρασης και επικοινωνίας, εγκα-θιστώντας μια νέα γλώσσα με τους δικούς της κώδικες.

Η Luminous Eye, έχοντας επίγνωση της νέας εποχής, γίνεται ο φορέας όλης αυτής της αναζήτησης των νέων δεδομένων και σας καλεί όλους/ες να συμμετάσχετε, με τον δικό σας ξεχωριστό τρόπο, στην δημιουργία του Luminous Eye Zine. Η ηλεκτρονική έκδοση του θα γί-νεται κάθε 2 μήνες από τη Luminous Eye, η οποία αναλαμβάνει την διαχείριση και την παρουσίαση αυ-τού του νέου οπτικού λεξικού.

Photography, as a means of expression, highlights its multidimensional nature, setting new ways of

reading the world around us ... The artistic approach highlights some of the properties of its multiple na-ture and becomes at the same time the ideal tool for expression and communication, installing a new lan-guage with its own codes. Luminous Eye, aware of the new era, becomes the messenger of all this search for new data and invites you all to participate, in your own special way, in the creation of Luminous Eye Zine. Its electronic version will be presented every 2 months by Luminous Eye, which undertakes the management and presentation of this new visual dictionary.

Ένας καταραμένος αριθμός, μέρα ή ημερομηνία, ένας ευλο-γημένος αριθμός, ένας ιερός κωδικός ...Μόνο για μία μέρα, μια Παρασκευή και 13, σε κάθε βήμα, σε κάθε χτύπο της καρδιάς, σε κάθε παλμό, μια εικόνα για να πολεμήσει τον φόβο, μια επείγουσα εικόνα για να ξεπεραστεί η δεισιδαιμονία, μια πολύ μικρή αλλά μαγική λεπτομέρεια για να μεγεθύνει το κοσμικό, ένα αόρατο μυστικό που μετα-μορφώνει την κοινή πραγματικότητα, κάτι ασήμαντο που θα κάνει τη ζωή μου ένα ονειρικό σύμπαν...

The island that takes me on journeys

I arrived on the island of Milos 18 years ago. The search for the essence of the world, leads me to photograph every day everything that surrounds me on a piece of land edged between sea and sky. 150.6 km² “Trapped” in paradise. Born to travel. Photography is the medium that allows me to travel as frequently as I need. Everyday scenes under the Cycladic light, of a fleeting world in which every detail is related to the concept of birth, of transfor-mation of life and death. Light, shadows and shapes which carry me back and forth in time. A green sea, a Venus appearing in my shadow, insects dying slowly … Everything I look at, discover and become on the island.

Mady Lykeridou

Mady Lykeridou was born in Athens and since 2002 she has been living in Milos. She is a graduate of Department of Photog-raphy and Audiovisual Arts - Faculty of Art and Design, Techno-logical Educational Institution (TEI) of Athens of the Department of Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art of the Vocational Senior High School, and she holds a PADI diploma for underwa-ter photography. After graduation she worked in Paris focusing mainly on artist portraits and street photography. She travelled to Europe and Alexandria in Egypt, where she worked with a sci-ence team of archaeological submarine excavations. Since 1997 she has cooperated with modern dance and theatre groups from France and Greece. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad and published in magazines and travel guides. In the shelter of Adamas is presented her per-manent solo exhibition “Gimme Shelter”. She has been a member of the Lens Culture since 2017.

Το νησί που με ταξιδεύει

Στο νησί της Μήλου έφτασα 18 χρόνια πριν. Η αναζήτηση για την ουσία του κόσμου, με οδηγεί να φωτογραφίζω καθημερινά όλα όσα με περιστοιχίζουν πάνω σ’ ένα κομμάτι γης στο μεταίχμιο ου-ρανού και θάλασσας. 150,6 km² ‘’Εγκλωβισμένη’’ στον παράδεισο. Γεννημένη για να ταξιδεύω.Η φωτογραφία είναι το μέσο που μπορεί να με ταξιδέψει με την συ-χνότητα που έχω ανάγκη.Καθημερινές σκηνές κάτω από το κυκλαδίτικο φως, ενός φευγαλέου κόσμου στον οποίο κάθε λεπτομέρεια σχετίζεται με την έννοια της γέννησης, της μεταμόρφωσης της ζωής και του θανάτου. Φως, σκιές και όγκοι με μεταφέρουν μπρος και πίσω στον χρόνο. Μια πράσινη θάλασσα, μια Αφροδίτη που φανερώνεται στην σκιά μου, οι μύγες που αργοπεθαίνουν …Όλα όσα ενατενίζω, ανακαλύπτω και γίνομαι στο νησί.

Μάντη Λυκερίδου

Η Μάντη Λυκερίδου γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα και από το 2002 ζει και εργάζεται στη Μήλο. Είναι απόφοιτος του Τ.Ε.Ι. Φωτογραφί-ας και Οπτικοακουστικών Τεχνών Αθήνας, του Τμήματος Συντήρη-σης Έργων Τέχνης και Αρχαιοτήτων του TEΛ, και κατέχει δίπλωμα Υποβρύχιας Φωτογραφίας PADI.Μετά την αποφοίτησή της εργάσθηκε στο Παρίσι εστιάζοντας κυ-ρίως σε πορτραίτα καλλιτεχνών και στη φωτογραφία δρόμου. Στην Αλεξάνδρεια της Αιγύπτου εργάσθηκε ως φωτογράφος σε μια επι-στημονική ομάδα υποθαλάσσιων αρχαιολογικών ανασκαφών. Από το 1997 έχει συνεργαστεί με ομάδες σύγχρονού χορού και θεάτρου από την Γαλλία και την Ελλάδα. Η δουλειά της έχει παρουσιαστεί σε ατομικές και ομαδικές εκθέσεις τόσο στην Ελλάδα όσο και στο εξωτερικό και έχει δημοσιευθεί σε περιοδικά και ταξιδιωτικούς οδη-γούς. Στο καταφύγιο του Αδάμαντα παρουσιάζεται η μόνιμη ατο-μική της έκθεση “Gimme Shelter”. Είναι μέλος του Lens Culture από το 2017.

Είναι στον αόρατο Μηχανισμό της Aσυνέχειας στον οποίο οφείλεται το τραύμα και το ουράνιο τόξο.Η Ασυνέχεια του ιστού - της ζωής, της εμπειρίας του Υποκειμένου, του Πραγματικού από το Συμβολικό, του Συμβολικού από το Πραγ-ματικό*, της ύλης που αναδύεται, άλλοτε, ως θάνατος, ως ρωγμή και λήθη, ως τραύμα, ως αντανάκλαση, ως Άλλος, ως παύση που δίνει τη δυνατότητα για επίγνωση– όπως εκδηλώνεται σε αυτή την αυθαίρετη ακολουθία εικόνων ενός μονίμως ζητούμενου, αλλά, μο-νίμως, ασύλληπτου είναι.

Γεννήθηκε το 1973 και κατοικεί στην Αθήνα. Με τη φωτογραφία ασχολείται συνειδητά από το 2015, ενώ από το 2018 έως το 2020 παρακολούθησε τα μαθήματα καλλιτεχνικής φωτογραφίας του Βα-σίλη Γεροντάκου. Το “Ασυνέχεια/Discontinuity” είναι το πρώτο του φωτογραφικό project.

Discontinuity

It is the invisible Mechanism of Discontinuity which makes trauma and rainbow happen.The Discontinuity of the web - of life, of Subject’s experience, of the Real from the Symbolic, of the Symbolic from the Real*, of matter that sometimes emerges as death, as crack and oblivion, as trauma, as a reflection, as the Other, as a pause enabling awareness - as manifested in this arbitrary sequence of images of a constantly sought after but, permanently, inconceivable being.

He was born in 1973 and lives in Athens. He has been conscious-ly involved in photography since 2015, while from 2018 to 2020 he attended the art photography classes of Vassilis Gerontakos. “Discontinuity” is his first photographic project.

Ένα αλλιώτικο καλοκαίρι

Είναι αλλιώτικο αυτό το καλοκαίρι. Κρατά τη θέρμη και τη ζωντάνια προηγούμενων καλοκαιριών, μα συγχρόνως θρέφεται από την μελαγχολία, το άγχος και την αγωνία των περασμένων μηνών. Των μηνών της άνοιξης, του covid 19 και της καραντίνας.Μπορεί η έκρηξη της φύσης, των χρωμάτων και των σχημάτων να δηλώνουν το παρόν, η ανεμελιά όμως μοιάζει να έχει χαθεί, η όρεξη για ταξίδια μακρινά απουσιάζει. Σχέδια για ονειρεμένες διακοπές αναβάλλονται ή ακυρώνονται, η θλίψη προσπαθεί να κερδίσει έδαφος, αρκούν όμως λίγες κλεμμένες στιγμές και η ένταση του θέρους επανέρχεται δριμύτερη…Ναι, είναι ένα αλλιώτικο καλοκαίρι αυτό… τα δεδομένα έχουν αλλάξει, μα προχωράμε…

A different summer

The warmth and vividness of previous summers is still here but at the same time this summer is nourished by the melan-choly, anxiety and distress, that was playing a leading part all these past months. The months of spring, Covid-19 and quaran-tine.May the explosion of the nature, of colors and shapes signify the present but the unconcern is lost and the willingness for long wanderings and travels is missing. Plans for dream vacations are put on hold or, even worst, canceled. While sadness tries to gain ground, a few stolen moments are enough to bring the heat of the summer back fiercer…Yes, this is a different summer… all standards have been changed but we are moving forward…

Meni Seiridou

Γεννήθηκε και κατοικεί στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Ασχολείται με τη φωτογραφία και τη συγγραφή. Είναι μέλος του ΔΣ του Φωτογραφικού Κέντρου Θεσσαλονίκης. Έχει πάρει μέρος σε πολλές ομαδικές εκθέσεις, στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό, ενώ συμμετείχε, ως συγγραφέας και ως φωτογράφος, στη συλλογή διηγημάτων «Γυμνά καλώδια» από τις εκδόσεις Ρώμη. Έργα της έχουν δημοσιευτεί σε διάφορα περιοδικά, εφημερίδες και sites. Το 2020 κυκλοφόρησε το «Blue drops of ink», ένα λεύκωμα, που περιέχει δικές της φωτογραφίες και ποίηση του Σωτήρη Γάκου, από τις εκδόσεις Άθωνος Art Space και αποτέλεσε την αφορμή για την πρώτη ατομική της έκθεση.

Meni Seiridou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, where she lives and works. Photographer and writer, she is a member of the Photography Center of Thessaloniki. She has taken part in several group exhibitions in Greece and other countries and par-ticipated as a writer and photographer in a compilation of novels called “Naked wires”, released by “Romi” Publications. Her work is published in newspapers, magazines and sites on Internet.In 2020, the book “Blue drops of ink”, which contains her photo-graphs together with Sotiris Gakos’ poems, was released by Atho-nos Art Space Publications. This publication was also the motive for her first solo exhibition.
