01 Laminam

Large surfaces with exceptional performance.Breaking the traditional concept of surfaces, Laminam is a full body porcelain slab, but in a revolutionary size. With a slab size of 3000mm x 1000mm, and a thickness of just 3.5mm and 5.6mm, it is possible to use large ceramic surfaces in previously unthinkable applications.

Laminam is remarkably strong and has very high resistance to scratching and abrasion. The advanced technology used to produce the slabs makes them easy to clean, resistant to frost, fire, mould and UV rays.

02Colour range

Low maintenance Laminam can be easily cleaned using standard disinfectants and detergents without affecting its surface characteristics.

Wear resistance Laminam is highly scratch and abrasion resistant. The properties of the slab remain unchanged even after intensive use, and frequent cleaning.

High strength Due to its excellent mechanical properties, Laminam is suitable for demanding applications like flooring.

Light weight With a weight of just 7kg per square metre, Laminam is very light, making it easier to handle, and reducing weight to building structures.

Frost resistance Laminam’s average water absorption is 0.1% so it’s frost resistant and suitable for all weather conditions.

Reaction to fire Laminam does not contain organic material so it’s resistant to fire and high temperatures. In the event of fire it does not release smoke or toxic substances.

Hygienic surface Because Laminam does not allow the formation of mould, bacteria and fungi, it is perfectly suitable for food preparation areas.

UV resistant Laminam does not contain organic pigments and is resistant to UV rays. The colours remain stable even when subjected to severe climate changes.

Eco-friendly Laminam is a totally natural product, and does not release any elements into the environment.

Anti graffiti Laminam is the first graffiti proof ceramic surface. It’s easy to clean and even the strongest paints can be easily removed.

Chemical resistance Laminam resists organic and inorganic solvents, providing a very durable stain resistant surface.

03 Laminam

Technical details Made from porcelain stoneware, Laminam slabs are produced using innovative technology, compacting the material before firing in a hybrid, dual-supply (gas, then electric) kiln at temperatures of over 1,220C. This kiln is designed to ensure an even and completely flat product.

Laminex New Zealand is the distributor of the Laminam 3+ and the Laminam 5 slabs. A select range of colours are stocked in these thicknesses at Laminex NZ, and other colours within these size ranges may be available subject to lead times and minimum order quantities.

Laminam slabs are made from natural materials, therefore variation within the slab and across multiple slabs is possible. For large projects, it is best to request for this product to be batch matched.

Laminam 3+ Limited range stocked in New Zealand in 3000x1000mm slabsLaminam 3+ is made up of the basic porcelain slab with the structure reinforced with fibreglass matting applied to the back surface using special adhesive.

The 3000mm x 1000mm slabs can be cut into other tile formats by local installers.

Uses of Laminam 3+: Normal wall tile applications; Floor tiles for normal foot traffic (not subjected to heavy wheeled traffic).

Nominal Thickness: 3.5mm

Laminam 5 Limited range stocked in New Zealand in 3000x1000mm slabs A limited number of colours and designs are available in the Laminam 5 format. This is simply a thicker variant of the basic porcelain slab, without the requirement for fibreglass reinforcement.

Uses of Laminam 5: Wall tiles; Floor tiles subjected to heavy wheeled traffic

Nominal Thickness: 5.6mm

Laminam 7 Imported to orderLaminam 7 is a sandwich made of two Laminam 3 slabs with fibreglass matting placed between the two slabs. Using this production method, all colours and designs are available in this format.

Uses of Laminam 7+: Heavy duty floor tiles subjected to heavy wheeled traffic; high impact areas for exterior cladding

Nominal Thickness: 7mm

Warranty

Laminex New Zealand provides a 10 year limited warranty for Laminam used in interior applications. A special 15 year warranty is available for Laminam when installed with the CS 45 ventilated cavity façade system. Please see www.laminam.co.nz for details.

Recommended Adhesives Most reputable brands of tile adhesives have a suitable adhesive for installing Laminam – a full list of suitable adhesives is available in the technical section of the Laminam website.

Trims Special trims are available for Laminam tiles, available from Tilersmate and other suppliers.

Care & Maintenance Laminam surfaces are easy to clean. For everyday cleaning, it is possible to use mild detergents. Please follow manufacturers guidelines and dilute cleaners when required.

To remove particularly tough stains or residues, generally, it is advisable to carry out an initial clean with hot water and mild detergent. If this operation is not sufficient, depending on the nature of the staining agent, it is possible to use increasingly stronger cleaning techniques, using products such as Jif®, Aquakleen™ or Fila® tile cleaners.
