Praise God for sending Jesus Christ as the perfect atoning sacrifice for our sins. Thank Jesus for his forgiveness and redeeming grace.

Thank the Lord for the service, witness and safe return of our Junior Highers,

Senior Highers and their leaders who invested part of their Spring Break in ministry to Warm Springs and Oakland. Thank Him also for a dedicated staff of OCEC teachers and leaders who attended last week’s Christian Education conference in the Seattle area.

Pray for our Holy Week observances, including Palm Sunday services and

Resurrection Sunday celebrations. Pray especially for our friends and neighbors who may join us for worship at this time of year when many return to church.

Pray for the ministry of The Inn to the Next Generation (age 18 to 30-

something), and especially for their weekly Thursday night worship and fellowship gatherings.

Pray for President Obama and his cabinet—especially Treasury Secretary

Geitner and Secretary of State Clinton—as they deal with difficult national and international issues. Pray especially for the global economy. Ask God to grant our leaders wisdom and the ability to hear and follow His leadership.

Pray for Bill Copeland along with other members and friends of our

church family who are suffering from chronic illnesses. Pray for those recovering from recent surgeries. And pray for those under hospice care and for those who have recently suffered the death of loved ones.

Scripture:

9:45AM What Does the Bible Say…

Taught by Brent Burson Meeting in Fellowship Center - Room FC 1

This class will focus on questions Christians and non-Christians are asking. When Dr. Burson went to seminary, he did not find that they often answered the practical questions that he had. He has questions. You have questions. What do you want to know? This class will provide a place where you can begin to find spiritual answers for what you want to know. Here are some of the questions that they will/might be answering (not all the questions have been decided upon yet). Can I enjoy movies and culture and still be a Christian?

Is it OK for a Christian to drink alcohol? Can I lose my salvation? How do I know God’s will? Is Jesus the only God? What is sexual sin and how do I go about breaking free from it? What do I do if I know that my dad is watching pornography? When does temptation become sin? Can husbands be stay-at-home dads? What is the kingdom of Hell? Does it exist? How human was Jesus? Are we living in the end times?

Beware, this class is not being taught by a Pastor! We will not be resting on our own beliefs but will be looking specifically what the Bible says about these questions. The only requirement is that each participant be willing to allow differences between class members and not be argumentative. It is the hope that between all participants, we will be able to find spiritual answers to those questions.
