from your Pastor This week, we have been officially ushered to the summer season. I believe that everyone is expe- riencing dryness and humidity. Yet, a warm weather should be more of a challenge to us rather than an excuse. Hot season may be uncomfortable, but it should remind us more of a place called Hell that is the most uncomfortable place where unsaved people go when they die. Use this summer heat to motivate you to win more souls and involve more in God’s work. Souls are the reason why we are sending an evangelistic team this week to Bicol province. I am so saddened by the fact that many people in that prov- ince and even in our country would be following their religious practice during this “holy week” thinking that such may save their souls. Blindly following their religion, they are still lost, and their only hope is the truth that only Jesus saves. That is why we must aim to be a better Christian, because we have a great task of obeying and fulfilling the Great Commission. Finally, I would like to congratulate personally every graduate! God is really good as He has blessed you in reaching another milestone of your life. I am praying that you will draw closer to God as He gives you greater challenges ahead. Let us continue in our faithful service to God! Have a blessed Sunday! VOLUME 23 > ISSUE 12 > MARCH 24

the summer season. I believe that everyone is expe-riencing dryness and humidity.

I am so saddened by the fact that many people in that prov-ince and even in our country would be following their religious practice during this “holy week” thinking that such may save their souls.

"But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;" 2 Timothy 3:14

A New BeginningAs you make a new beginning in your life, graduate,

Be aware of important things you didn’t learn in school:As you pursue your dreams, Remember to take time to help and serve others

Even if doing so slows you down a little. As you explore and develop your unique talents, Remain humble, realizing that your special abilities are gifts from God.

As life hands you challenges, welcome them as ways to become smarter and stronger. As you acquire material things, Know that your most important possessions are honesty, integrity,

And the desire to make a difference. Congratulations, graduate.

Last March 20, our Philippine National Police Academy Baptist Cadet Ministry conducted a bac-calaureate service for our 12th batch of graduating Baptist Cadets. The pioneer of the Baptist Cadets who graduated in 2003 was present at the service. He is now a Colonel and he has decided to help the ministry. Four of the graduating class gave their testimonies on how their lives were changed through listening to God's Word. Then our Pastor prayed for the graduating class and their bullring. Thereafter, the Cadet- in-Charge turned over his duties to the incoming Cadet-in-Charge for the school year 2013-2014. For the event’s highlight, our beloved Pastor encouraged the cadets, especially the graduating class through the main challenge of God's Word.

Starting with just one cadet 12 years ago, the ministry of the Baptist cadets, led by Bro. Ronnie Delfin, is now averaging 100 in attendance during Sunday service. Such is an extension service in the Academy every Sunday morning because the cadets are not allowed to go out.

Currently, said ministry is having a Prayer Meeting every Thursday and Soul-winning every Saturday outside the camp. Please continue praying for the growth of this ministry.

The 12th commencement ceremony of the Christian Bible Baptist Church School for the Deaf was successfully held with 13 graduates (preparatory to high school) last March 22. Two out of four high school graduates expressed their desire to enroll in the Bible College.

This year's graduation theme, “The Fruits of God's Faithfulness," was clearly expounded by Rev. Arnold N. Vallejo, the guest speaker. In his inspiring message, he emphasized that regeneration, re-creation, and conviction are the fruits of God’s faithfulness. Indeed, what we are, what we have, what we did, and how we live as saved individuals are all fruits of God's faithfulness. We can do nothing without God!

"There are four ways in which substances react to light. Some are transparent. The light passes through them. Some are translu-cent. They scatter the light. Some are opaque. They bar the light. Some are like mirrors. They reflect the light. We want to be mirrors, reflecting the Light."

BringingSheavesIN THE

Hymn Story

Knowles Shaw, when he was only 13, stood at the bedside of his dying father. “Prepare to meet thy God!” said the old man. Weighty words from Amos 4:12. And the young man promptly ignored them! A talented musician, he played for many community dances, living a care-less, fun-filled life. But five years later, at a rowdy dance party, Knowles Shaw

seemed to hear his father’s words echoing in his heart. He says he dropped his violin bow on the spot. Sensing his values were all wrong, he determined never again to use his talent just to amuse the careless crowd. At the age of eighteen, Knowles Shaw gave his heart to Christ and prepared for Christian ministry. Records kept at the time suggest that the Lord used him to bring nearly 20,000 people to Christ. In 1874, he wrote a gos-pel song called Bringing in the Sheaves. It is based on Psalm 126:5-6 which says: "They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoic-ing, bringing his sheaves with him." That expresses a basic principle that can be applied to serving the Lord. A similar encouragement is given to us in Galatians, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Gal. 6:9). These passages remind us there is hard work involved in our service for the Lord, with heavy burdens, and perhaps even tears. But the end result is well worth it. - Selected
