FROM THE PRINCIPAL
MR MARKS Last Monday I had the privilege of visiting the Christian Schools Australia office to be part of an induction programme for principals that are new to ‘CSA’ schools.
It was a day of great learning in many ways. I certainly had a lesson in patience as I navigated the Sydney traffic for the first time.
There was great value in listening to principals, old and new, as they shared about what it means to be part of ‘CSA’ and to be a Christian School.
I came away feeling blessed to be part of such an organisation, an organisation which shares with us as a school and as parents, the responsibility to grow children God’s way.
It served to remind me of the value of being united, united in Christ, and that we are part of a bigger picture. We sat as a group of individual people, from individual schools with different customs, traditions and all dealing with different circumstances, but united. We are united as a community of Christian schools. Likewise, we are ALL part of the Nowra Christian School community. We have different backgrounds, different family situations, but are all part of the community.
Like me, you probably appreciate the feeling of being part of a group that shares a common goal, similar interests, pastimes or perhaps even beliefs. Sharing in those sorts of relationships can be a positive thing. However what we have in a relationship with CSA and as a community here in Nowra is much deeper than that.
People who I have met here in Nowra have often made comment that there’s ‘something special’ about Nowra Christian School. Well, I would like to suggest that the ‘something special’ is no accident but comes about because we are not merely ‘like minded’, but in fact ‘like hearted’.
“It is the presence of Jesus in our hearts that makes us one.”
My trip to CSA helped highlight the sense of unity we have. The oneness that we have as a community is something that we should not take for granted, nor should we forget where that ‘oneness’ comes from, the shared love of Jesus.

The visit in 2013 was very positive and we have decided to facilitate this sporting organisation’s important message once again.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR
PARENTS OF STUDENTS IN KINDER - YEAR 2
We have 2 students in Kinder who
have a condition known as MCAD.
This means that if they get sick it can
become life threatening. If your child
is sick or has a fever etc., please do
not send them to school. If you know
of any illness going around your
preschool etc., please also notify the
school and we will contact the
parents so they can keep the boys at
home. Thank you for your
understanding.

HEALTHY LIVING TIPS
Fundamental Movement Skills
There is evidence that children
who are familiar with the
fundamental movement skills
are more likely to be active
and enjoy physical activity.
Give your kids a head start and teach
them how to run, jump, skip, kick, throw
and catch.
We are extremely concerned about the speed of some drivers using our carpark. FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS, please ensure the following -
The sign as you enter our carpark says it is a shared zone and the speed limit is 10kph (walking pace) – please keep to this speed at all times.
A reminder to all drivers that the only exit driveway is the one at the southern end of the school grounds.
Picking up children – a reminder to all our parents of Primary students – parents MUST park their cars in the car park and physically come and pick up your child.
