WELCOME TO TACOMA: The Mariners acquired right-handed starter Zach Lee from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for INF Chris Taylor on June 19. Lee, 24, was 7-5 with a 4.89 ERA (40 ER, 73.2 IP) with 57 strikeouts in 13 starts with AAA Oklahoma City. He allowed 10 earned runs in his start on April 28, and not including that game, he has posted a 3.84 ERA (30 ER, 70.1 IP) in his 12 other starts. With the win, the Generals finished the 2016 Southern League First Half at 46-24, setting a new record for most wins in a half in franchise history. The previous record was 45 wins set by the 1999 and 2000 West Tenn Diamond Jaxx. Gaviglio (7.0,2,0,0,1,5) earned his 4th win of the season, allowing only 2 hits, 1 walk and striking out 5 over 7.0 shutout innings. FIRST HALF CHAMPIONS: The Generals clinched the Southern League North Division First Half Title with a 3-2 13-inning win over the Mississippi Braves on Saturday night, becoming the first team in all of Minor League Baseball to secure a playoff spot. It is the first playoff berth for Jackson since the Generals won the 2012 North Division First Half Title with a 42-28 first half record. Friday May 12th was the first time all year the Generals were not atop the North Division, as they trailed Montgomery by a half-game. HEY NOW YOU ARE AN ALL-STAR: The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs announced the roster for the North Division in the 2016 All-Star Game, and 8 Generals were selected as Mid-Season All-Stars.
