T HE M ESSENGER From the Pastor’s Pen FRESH EVERY MORNING "I’ll never forget the trouble, the utter lostness... I remember it all— oh, how well I remember— the feeling of hitting the bottom. But there’s one other thing I remember, and remembering, I keep a grip on hope: God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning." Lamentations 3:19-23, MSG God's love is not sentimental mush. Yes, there is a gentleness to it, a sense of nurturing. "He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart" (Isaiah 40:11). But God's love also conveys strength. It is the believer's door to freedom when troubles seem to crush all hope. It is a safe refuge from the battering of the storms of life. God's love goes before us. God's love is our safeguard from what we cannot see. "The LORD’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in Him" (Psalm 32:10). God's love never gets old. It is always fresh and refreshing. THE MESSENGER

From the Pastor’s Pen

FRESH EVERY MORNING "I’ll never forget the trouble,

the utter lostness...

I remember it all—

oh, how well I remember—

the feeling of hitting the bottom.

But there’s one other thing I remember, and remembering,

I keep a grip on hope:

God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out,

his merciful love couldn’t have dried up.

They’re created new every morning."

Lamentations 3:19-23, MSG

God's love is not sentimental mush. Yes,

there is a gentleness to it, a sense of

nurturing. "He tends his flock like a

shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His

arms and carries them close to His

heart" (Isaiah 40:11).

But God's love also conveys strength. It

is the believer's door to freedom when

troubles seem to crush all hope. It is a

safe refuge from the battering of the storms of life. God's love goes before us.

God's love is our safeguard from what

we cannot see. "The LORD’s unfailing

love surrounds the one who trusts in

Him" (Psalm 32:10).

God's love never gets old. It is always

fresh and refreshing. "God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love

couldn’t have dried up. They’re created

new every morning." Yes, new and

fresh. Every morning.

And because it is grounded in His

character and in His Word, God's love

will never fail you. So when fear assails

you, look to God. See His heart.

Experience His love. "Don’t panic. I’m

with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m

your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help

you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm

grip on you" (Isaiah 41:10, MSG).

Lakan

When fear assails you,

look to God.

See His heart.

Experience His love.
