Avoid Too Much Text• You should avoid using text as much as possible• Slides that are full of text are boring and do not engage the
audience• Never, ever, EVER create a slide full of text and then just read the
slide to the audience – the audience can read for themselves, plus if you’re just reading the slide you’re avoiding eye contact
• PowerPoint makes bullet lists easy, but DON’T use them if you don’t have to
• If you must use bullet lists, avoid animating them• If at all possible, the only text on the slide should be the title,
reference points for images, and axes on a graph
