This map presents the estimated total rainfallaccumulation for Eastern Visaya Region inPhilippines covering the period from 04 to 07December 2014. This total estimate was derived fromthe Tropical Rainfall Monitoring Mission (TRMM)precipitation dataset at a spatial resolution ofapproximately 0.25 degrees for this region. Thenorthwestern part of Samar Island seems to haveexperienced more rain precipitations and ispotentially more affected. The main affected areasseem to be Northern and Eastern Samar. It ispossible that precipitation levels may have beenunderestimated for local areas, and is not asubstitute for ground station measurements.
