Open InDesign and select Create New-Document

You should be able to use the default setting as follows.

Select View-Grids & Guides-Show Document Grid. Then View-Grids & Guides-Snap to Document Grid.

Select File-Document Setup. Then set the Number of Pages to 4.

Let’s put the title on the first page. Select Text icon.

Left click hold and drag to make a box (this is a text box).

Make the font size 48 or something big. You can also choose your font style, but Times New Roman is very professional and safe. You must also note that you should only use at most two font styles throughout the work.

Type in the title. Then center it.

We also align this vertically by Right click-Text Frame Options and select Align: Center.

Repeat the same process to put other information. You can move the boxes by selecting Direct Selection icon.

We can always preview how it looks like without the grid by selecting Preview icon.

Now let’s go to page 2. Notice that page 2 and page 3 are side by side as it is a 4-page leaflet. On page 2, we will put some or all of the work you produced in Term 1. We will first create a photo frame using the Rectangle Frame tool. We simply left click hold and drag.

Now select Direct Selection icon. Then copy and paste the frame.

Repeat the process to fill the page. They don’t fit perfectly, so we tweak the size of the frames to fit all the frames evenly.

Select a frame, and select File-Place and find an image you want to place.

You will notice that the image is too big for the frame. Select Indirect Selection icon, then select the frame. You will see the image inside.

You can resize it by dragging a corner. Be sure to hold Shift to keep the proportion. Tweak the position to a desired position.

Repeat the process to fill the page.

Now go to page 3. On this page, we will put our final work as follows. Your text should begin with “Where We Live:” followed by the following information. The font size must be set to 12. What you found challenging. What you found fun. What you discovered. What you can do better.

When you are done, select File-Save, then save it as “Term 1 DWB”.
