Seminar B Today, personalization and individualization become an integral part

of the world wide web. Many approaches like Amazon's "users like you also bought..." provide recommendations that bases on a statistical analysis of usage data. There is room left for improvement... Imagine, a shop like Amazon is able to provide you with the right recommendations at the right time: e.g. while looking for a new book, you get books suggested that suite your knowledge profile. While looking for a present for your friend, your knowledge about your friend will help to recommend suitable presents. So far, just a dream?!?

The seminar will deal with the technologies necessary to make the dream become a reality. Based on contextualized attention metadata, the seminar will touch on respective technologies from the semantic web area, data mining, knowledge representation, privacy and security, database, networks, psychology and computer linguistics will be discussed, relevant highlights pointed out and preliminary results shown. The application domain will be technology enhanced learning.
