KPS Leak Detection
No maintenance and perfect for retro-fit

KPS Leak Detection – KP 315
What is the worst enemy of service stations ?Leakages
Water entry in tanks
What is the best solution against these threats :
Leak detection system
3
KPS Leak Detection – KP 315
How it works : with double wall piping installation
4
Connections to the piping
The leak detection unit is placed at the lowest point of the piping system, one in each tank sump
Polyamide tubing connects from secondary containment of the piping to the leak detection unit
The manifold is used to connect to multiple pipes
If primary pipe is leaking, fuel will flow by gravity down to the leak detection unit
5
The Leak Detection Unit
A sensor inside the unit reacts to the presence of fluids• Fuel of any sort = leakage from primary pipe to secondary• Water = leaking secondary containment
Proximity Capacitive sensor
6
KPS Leak Detection – KP 315
Non-maintenance No pressure/vaccum Easy integration with tank
gauging systems
7
The Leak Detection Unit
Example of installed leak detection box : retrofit
8
The Alarm Unit
Test buttons Status LEDPower supply
AlarmMute Sensorsconnections
Module : Isolated switch amplifiers
Intrinsic safelyEExi
Power supply Fuses, and relay
9
Applications: Stand-alone
Local installation with audio and visual alarm
Up to 5 pipes connected to each leak detection unit• To monitor up to 9 pipes, add
an extra manifold Up to 6 sumps monitored by
one alarm unit. For more, a extra unit can be added
10
Applications: Telematic Surveillance
The alarm unit is prepared for GSM connection
GSM module
Backofficeserver
Filling station leak detection
Notification and surveillance
11
Applications: Connected to ATG systems
Connect to tank gauging systems or other external monitoring systems via the outgoing signal relay
NO/NC – potential free switch with breaking or closing function : STOP the submerged pumps system for instance
12
Advantages of KP 315 Leak Detection System
Immediate alarm as soon as liquid reaches the sensor - No minimum leak rate or volume
Any leakage is contained by the system and will not contaminate the sump (compare with Veeder-Root containment sump sensors)
No restrictions on pipe volume Works for all secondary contained pipes (steel, fibreglass, flexible)
Quick reset in case of alarm• Disconnect the tubing, empty the container and connect tubing again• Ready to go! No drying times or recalibration of systems.
Easy to install• One cable from the sump to the alarm unit/building• Suitable for retro-fit applications
13
Approval
Approved to EN 13160 – Leak Detection Systems
14
Suggested Positioning
As an add-on to OPW SiteSentinel As an add-on to existing Veeder-Root systems For retro-fit where leak detection is missing Stand-alone as a low investment solution Where low/no maintenance costs are required
