12

Market conditions vs classification structure

• Total turnover in 95.2 is only 1.1 billion NOK

• Division is divided into six 4.digit groups. Each of the groups are homogenous concerning activity in the Norwegian market – and has a low turnover.

• From this point – market conditions and classification structure suits fine ( statistical unit being enterprise or establishment).

• Statistics Norway have no CPA-survey at this area. One question could be raised: Do repair activities ”disappear” within enterprises or establishments, having another primary activity ?

14

Market conditions vs classification structure

• From the survey it does not seem to be any repair activity (95.2) within retailtrade.

• Random case – Kalko from Norway

- 2010. New bike is bought in the shop ”Best Bicycles”

- Kalko has a small accident in 2011.

- Bike is brought to ”Best Bicycles” for repair. The cost of the

repair amounted to 15 percent of the price

- One challenge for enterprises where repair is the secondary actitvity might be difficulties to distinguish between sale and repair in the total turnover.
