1 This column presents a. statement of the average numbers attending at one service only on the Sabbath, and it has beeu pointed out that this mode of calculating the nttendnnce does not render the returns of the different denomtnutions strictly comparable, in~smuch as, in connection with some rcltgJous bodies, there are several services held on the same day, attach of which an entirely distinct set of worsliippers attends, whil::.t, in the case of other denominations, the attendance at subsequent servJces always consists, to a. greater or less extent, of the some iudividuals as were comprised in the llrst oongreg•tlon.-' These figures are copied from the return furnished for the year !87l• as the Head of the Denomination stated tbnt he could not ~llcct the inform~tion for 1874.-' These ftgnres are only to he taken as approximate.-• Many of these nre protlably schoolhouses.

The returns sbow the gross expol'ts. Scarcely any gold app~ars in the import returns until after the gold export duty was abolished at t.he end of 1867.
