Project Concept 1: Demand Management Learning ForumSingapore, as lead country of the project, continues to share their experience on urban water demand management through workshop and visit to ASEAN Member States (AMS).

Review of activities 2009-2012

2009: 1st Urban Water Demand Management Learning Forum was held during SIWW 2009

2010: PUB organised a workshop on Water Demand Management with funding from Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) under the ASEAN Cooperative Training Award (ATA) framework for ASEAN members during SIWW 2010

2011: PUB organised a workshop on Water Quality Management Water Catchment to Consumers Tap with funding from MFA ATA for ASEAN members during SIWW 2011

2012: PUB organised a workshop on Sharing of Singapore’s Experience in NEWater & Desalination Projects through PPP from 30 Oct to 2 Nov 2012

Urban Water Demand Management Learning Forum - Update on 2012 Project Workshop for ASEAN officials on “Sharing of Singapore’s Experience in NEWater and Desalination Projects through Public Private Partnership (PPP)”

Objectives: To share with participants on practices and challenges in PPP through case studies of PPP projects in Singapore.

Upcoming PUB-MFA’s ASEAN Bilateral Programme: Water Utilities Leaders Workshop (16-19 Sep 2013)

Course Objective•Better understand how Singapore manages our water utilities in an urban landscape• Engage other leading industry players in the global water utilities sector•Incubate fresh approaches to water management through participation in SIWW Water Utilities Leaders Forum

Target Audience• Senior level government officials (e.g. Director-Generals, Deputy Director-Generals, Heads of Department, Directors, CEOs) in the water sector

Topics•The Singapore Experience in Integrated Urban Water Resource Management•Water Treatment Technologies – Conventional & Membrane•Water Supply Network Asset Management•Water Quality ManagementIn addition, participants will also be participating in SIWW Water Utilities Leaders Forum.

Sharing of Knowledge through Asia Pacific Water Forum

Since inception of the KnowledgeHub, WaterHub has conducted a number of capacity building programmes benefitting more than 1500 participants from 110 countries as of May 2013 . Some of the capacity building programmes include :

• PUB-MFA’s Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP) – Singapore Cooperation Programme Training Awards (SCPTA)/Small Island Developing States Technical Cooperation Programme (SIDSTEC) Workshop (2 runs per year)

•Temasek Foundation Water Leadership programme (last run was in May 2013)

•Singapore-Peking-Oxford Research Enterprise – Executive Training Programme on Water Eco-efficiency (since 2012 with 1 run per year)

Deep Tunnel Sewerage System – Phase 2 (2020s)

The Deep Tunnel system will cover western part of Singapore, leading to a centralised WRP at Tuas (integrated with NEWater production).
