2. Most of the things that go on your 6 most list should be in these categories
3. If you know you need to coach a week before a party, flip ahead and write it in the appropriate date.
You’ll use this to track your Perfect,
Power, & Powerstart Plus.
In the beginning, you’ll work with this
FOCUS CARD until you complete your first POWER
START, even if it’s mid-month.
After 1st POWER START, you’ll use a new FOCUS Card
for each calendar month.

with your DIRECTOR…I PROMISE!

Use your DEBIT CARD for all your
Mary Kay purchases
This will make tax time a breeze.
All you need is your BANK STATEMENT to track your business expenditures. Keep CASH RECEIPTS for things like
taxis, tips to bellman, etc.
You could use a REWARDS Credit Card for
your purchases… ONLY IF you are
disciplined enough to pay it off at the end
of each month!
In this case, you would keep all your credit
card statements for your taxes.
You can stash your receipts in your MONEY
BAG, and then transfer them to a hanging
file (with enclosed sides) in a filing cabinet when you
get home.
Once a month you can transfer these receipts
to the appropriate section of an accordian
file.
50% of the money coming in from your sales
must be set aside for replenishing your
inventory…if you have inventory.
The other 50% is your income.
10% of your income should be set aside for
supplies (samples, books, pcp gifts, etc)
A percentage should be set aside to pay back
your initial investment…either loan, credit
card, or paying yourself back.
EXAMPLE OF YOUR DISBURSEMENTS:
$1000 week
-$500 for inventory replenishment
-$500 income (hands off…you’re not ready to go
shopping just yet! )
-$50 for supplies (books, samples, etc.)
-$50-$100 paying off investment
(this can eventually go towards paying for events)

=$400 *PROFIT
DEFINITION OF THE WORD *PROFIT:
money left over after business expenses are paid.
•For BUDGETING purposes, you can use
the BUSINESS TRACKING REGISTER
from the company, or even a SPIRAL
NOTEBOOK will do.
•If you’re the techie type, you can
use a software program like EXCEL,
QUICKBOOKS, ASCEND or
PEACHTREE.
•Bottom line…find a system that
works for you to keep track of it so
you know where your money is going.
You’ve completed your 1st class!
Just remember, it will take time to MASTER
everything you learn from these classes.
Be patient with yourself and NEVER MISS A
MEETING.
