4. BELL PARK B&B


Bell Park B&B is in the main homestead and overflows into a cottage

and flatlet. It consists of two twin rooms with an adjacent bathroom

and shower and one twin room that is en-suite. Tea/coffee making

facilities are also available in the rooms. A full home-cooked breakfast

is served in the sunroom overlooking the dam and dinner is served in

the dining room on request.

The self-catering cottage is set on the premises and is fully furnished

Our self-catering cottages are equipped with bed linen, the basic

barbeque outside. All cottages have TV with SABC channels. The cottages

also have their own DSTV decoders so you are welcome to bring your

smart card with you should you want to watch DSTV.

9. CATHKIN HOUSE LUXURY


Cathkin House is tastefully and luxuriously furnished in differing earthy tones,

spacious and built with minimal level changes so although not equipped

17. EMFULENI


This well-appointed, secluded, cottage has views of the surrounding

sandstone hills of the Little Berg, indigenous riverine forest and a lake.

Sleeps six people comfortably and if needed another two people. Fully

furnished and equipped. Open plan lounge - fireplace (buy firewood from

local vendors), dining area and kitchenette - microwave, stove/oven, fridge/

18. ESKIRNE COTTAGES


Erskine Cottages are set on a hill side overlooking the Champagne

Valley to the Cathkin range beyond and is a 10 minute drive to

the heart of the Central Drakensberg. The cottages are newly

renovated and give a definite farm feel. Grape Cottage is the

main cottage with 3 bedrooms serviced by a bathroom with a

bath and shower and 2 separate toilets. The lounge has an

Anthracite heater and TV (SABC & DSTV available if you bring

your own smart card) and opens to a patio with braai facilities.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering (including a

microwave) and there is undercover parking. There is an adjoining cottage (also self-catering or B&B) that

has two rooms, one with a Queen Size bed and the other with two single beds. The Lavender Cottage is set

37. THE POND


This is a wonderful retreat, and is set amongst huge trees, some of

which are over 150 years old. The views of Champagne Castle, Mount

Cathkin and Sterkhorn are magnificent. As the light changes, you have a

very different scene every 20 minutes. This is sheer music to the soul

and great inspiration to artists.

Ferndale Cottage consists of a living room, two bedrooms; one with a

king-size bed, the other with two single beds. Each bedroom has its own

bathroom. One with a bath, the other with a shower. The cottage has a

fireplace to keep you warm on winter evenings, a small stove and refrigerator, a kettle, a toaster, the usual

pots, pans, crockery and necessary utensils. There is no TV.

38. TOUT EN HAUT


Tout en Haut is a well-appointed self-catering cottage which comfortably

sleeps eight. The cottage has 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. The main

bedroom en suite has a queen size bed and a private lounge area with

double sliding doors opening up onto the garden with beautiful views of

Champagne Valley. The second bedroom, with a bay window overlooking

the garden has a king size bed and the third bedroom has two twin beds.

The fourth bedroom leads off from the main bedroom and is suitable for

children and shares the en suite bathroom. The second and third bedrooms

share a full bathroom with a bath. There is a third bathroom with a shower

which has an outside entrance. Extra comfort includes heating in all the bedrooms for those winter evenings and

a gas heater in the lounge makes for cosy evenings in front of the television. The patio, with sweeping views of

Champagne Valley, is the perfect spot to spend lazy summer afternoons and evenings watching the night sky.

The cottage is also equipped with a DVD player, and a DSTV decoder, for which guests must please bring their

own smart card. A barbecue / braai facility is situated on the side of the house.






39. TREMOUNT

(300m from BHF conference venue)

Situated in the Central Drakensberg, on private property, adjacent to

Champagne Sports Resort. Magnificent views of the Champagne and

Cathkin Mountain ranges. Beautiful garden. Use of the owner's swimming

pool. Use of fridge, freezer and braai facilities on request. 2 X twin

bedded rondawels, each with en suite bathroom, tea/coffee-making

facilities. The bathrooms and bedrooms are heated during the winter

months.

40. WITS END


Wits End This family run establishment is close to the entrance to

the World Heritage site and has 9 chalets all with magnificent views

of the Central Drakensberg range. The atmosphere is relaxed and

the chalets, carefully appointed for privacy, have fireplaces for cosy

winter evenings and fans for the summer heat. Chalets range from

luxury 2 & 3 Suite Units (chalets with 2 or 3 bedrooms en suite), 3

bedroom 1 bathroom family chalets, and 4 bedroom 2 bathroom

group chalets. The resort boasts 80 hectares of pristine mountain

landscape with several private nature trails running through

indigenous forests and mountain grassland, and a 10 acre dam with canoeing, row boating, and fly fishing.

The Dam is well stocked with Rainbow trout and Natal Yellowfish and is not heavily fished as its use is

strictly for guests. There is also a rock swimming pool with a LAPA and indoor games, and a children's play

area.

41. ZEBRA CROSSING GUEST HOUSE


Zebra Crossing and the Cathkin Estates offer visitors a unique opportunity

to unwind and de-stress. With balmy evenings, enjoying both the mountain

views and game that wonder freely. The house comprises a lovely kitchen

with state-of-the-art facilities, including oven, (stove), microwave and all

other crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and so forth. Open-plan, large lounge

with satellite television (DStv) and dining area with 6-seater table.

The fireplace makes for cosy winter evenings. Enjoy balmy evenings on the

undercover patio area with built-in barbeque/braai, again, with mountain

views. There are 3 bedrooms each with a bathroom. Luxuriously appointed linen and towels are provided in all

rooms, fireplace and under floor heating.
