TufFlow SP10

High range water reducingsuperplasticiser for concrete

Product Description

TufFlow SP10 is a liquid concrete admixturebased on sulphonated naphthalene that willallow for substantial water reductions andimpart high early and ultimate strengths inthe concrete. Alternatively TufFlow SP10will produce high workability, cohesive con-crete with no effect on setting times.

Very high workability mixes are virtuallyself-compacting and as such have to maintaincohesiveness without segregation. Suchmixes are suitable for areas of high reinforce-ment congestion and difficult access forvibration.

TufFlow SP10 is ideally suited to micro-sili-ca modified concrete where high workabilityis required to be maintained over shorthaulage distances and where an emphasis onhigher early strength has been placed.

Typical Applications

• Readymix & site batched concrete.• Precast concrete.• Low water/cement ratio concrete.• In areas of congested reinforcement or

difficult access for vibrators.• Any applications where high workability

combined with exceptional placing prop-erties are required.

Features and Benefits

• Powerful plasticising action – reduces oreliminates the requirement for com-paction.

• Compatible with cement replacements –such as micro-silica, fly-ash etc.

• Reduced water contents – up to 25%water reduction leading to increases incompressive, flexural and tensilestrengths.

• Suitability for use – with all Portlandcement types including SulphateResisting.

• High early strengths – suitable for pre-cast works, achieved through water reduc-tion properties.

Compatibility

Directions for Use

Surface Preparation: Use a wire brush toensure all surfaces are clean, sound and freefrom loose particles, old mortar, laitance, dirtetc. Use a suitable chemical degreaser toremove any traces of oil and grease and washdown thoroughly with clean water. When lay-ing slabs or screeds to existing concrete, sur-faces must be rough. Lightly scale smoothsurfaces prior to application of the fresh mix. When repairing damaged concrete, ensurethat existing concrete is cut back to soundmaterial.

Mixing: Mixing should always be carried outusing a forced action pan type mixer such as aCreteangle. Do not hand mix unless a verysmall quantity is required. Add the cement andsand to the mixer and premix for approx.1 minute. Add the GIC SBR EXTRA and mixfor a further 2 minutes; add water slowly untilthe desired consistency is reached. Keep watercontent to a minimum to obtain maximumhardened properties.

Bonding slurry: Thoroughly wet downabsorbent substrates such as concrete, brickand stone ensuring that they are saturated butsurface dry. Mix 2 parts cement with 1 partGIC SBR EXTRA to a lump free consisten-cy. Then using a stiff brush apply at a nominal1mm, working the slurry into the substrateensuring complete coverage.

Watchpoint: Never apply concrete, screedsetc. onto a GIC SBR EXTRA bonding slurrythat has been allowed to dry.
