GÉANT services like Bandwidth-on-Demand (BoD) and Multi Domain VPN does address the multi domain aspect

Virtual Circuit endpoints are at the edge of campus

You need to configure campus networks in the near end as well as in the far end

Doing this on the users demand is our goal

Application ready network by pushing a button

Network as a Service

A NaaS server controls the componentsE.g. using NETCONF over SSH

The server controls any part of the configuration:

Network address

Routing protocol

ACLs / address-port filters

Etc.

The server handles several manufacturers devices

The server exposes all functionality by generic interfacesabstracting the specific brand

a general service based on Network as a Service

framework for delegating local networking resources to abroad users in a controlled way

Makes possible to collect resources and form a desired topology – including necessary addressing and routing

provisioning of the resulting net is done on demand

decommissioning is done on demand

The vision of Network on Demand

NaaS servers are well known technology

BoD is accessible trough API

Delegation to foreigners is the missing point

The vision in NoD is to operate local NaaS servers

The resource owner hands over rights to her local trusted server

From here the resource is delegated to the relevant persons

A workflow is build enabling the end user to handle the network parts needed for the target end-to-end network
