• Coordinate the acquisition and deployment of sufficient, adequately trained and briefed personnel and resources for the treatment of vehicles in an incursion response

• Schedule vehicle treatments• Negotiate for the acquisition or creation of new vehicle

treatment sites and facilities, and• Coordinate, monitor and report on vehicle treatments

• Coordinate the acquisition and deployment of sufficient, adequately trained and briefed personnel and resources for the treatment of contaminated materials and property on Restricted Places in an incursion response, and

• Coordinate, monitor and report on decontamination and treatment across Restricted Places

• Lead a group of people in treating vehicles, equipment and other materials to remove contaminated material and/or eliminate contamination on a Restricted Place

• Oversee the establishment and maintenance of a Treatment Pad on a Restricted Place

• Provide technical advice to other teams in the safe application of chemicals and disinfectants, and

• Check the readiness of a Restricted Place for Final Inspection

• Treatment Site – A treatment operation outside a restricted place for the purposes of treating vehicles. Usually an established premises with a treatment area and equipment

• Treatment Pad – An area on a Restricted Place set up for the treatment of vehicles

Treatment Definitions

• Contamination – Presence of a substance that could harbour the unwanted organism on a surface e.g. fat, protein (blood, tissue, secretions), faeces, ingesta, and dirt

• Decontaminate - Cleaning and disinfecting an infected place, conveyor or risk good to remove the ability of an infective agent to act as a source of infection

Treatment Definitions• Cleaning – The removal of visible contamination from

surfaces• Disinfecting - Using a disinfectant to destroy disease

carrying micro-organisms• pH – The level of acidity/alkalinity of a water solution on a

scale of 1 to 14– pH 7 is neutral (neither acidic or alkaline)– below 7 is acidic (e.g. citric acid)– above 7 is alkaline (e.g. Sodium Hydroxide)
