A composition as the stabilizer for preparing the freeze-dried vaccine and the method for producing the freeze-dried vaccine using the composition are disclosed. The composition comprises human serum albumin, sucrose, trehalose, dextran, sodium glutamate, urea and arginine with the initial concentration in the stock solution before freeze-drying of 3-20 g/l, 30-100 g/l, 10-30 g/l, 10-50 g/l, 6-12 g/l, 3-9 g/l and 0.5-2 g/l, respectively. The composition does not contain gelatin.

Provided are photochromic articles that include a substrate, a primer layer that includes a first photochromic compound, and a photochromic-dichroic layer over the primer layer that includes a photochromic-dichroic compound. The present invention also relates to such photochromic articles that further include a topcoat layer over the photochromic-dichroic layer. The topcoat layer can include a second photochromic compound that has an absorbance of less than 0.1 at the wavelength of peak absorbance of the underlying photochromic-dichroic compound. The photochromic articles provide, for example, a combination of linear polarizing properties, and reduced percent transmittance when in a colored or darkened state, such as when exposed to actinic light.

The present invention relates to compositions forming a low viscosity mixture of: a) 20-80 wt.% of at least one diacyl glycerol and/or a tocopherol; b) 20-80 wt.% of at least one phosphatidyl choline (PC); c) 5-20 wt.% of at least one biocompatible, organic mono-alcoholic solvent; d) up to 20 wt.% polar solvent e) at least one peptide active agent; f) optionally at least one antioxidant; wherein the ratio of components a:b is in the range 40:60 to 54:46; wherein the pre-formulation forms, or is capable of forming, at least one liquid crystalline phase structure upon contact with excess aqueous fluid. The invention further relates to methods of treatment comprising administration of such compositions, and to pre-filled administration devices and kits containing the formulations.

A grade level enclosure conversion assembly adapted for converting a pedestal housing between a flush-to-grade and an above-ground pedestal installation. The base of the pedestal housing carries a plug removably mounted to a swing-arm in the grade level enclosure. The swing-arm holds the pedestal assembly in a stored position in the flush-to-grade installation, containing wiring for service connections. To convert to the above-ground installation, a solid grade level cover plate lid is removed, and the pedestal assembly is rotated on the swing arm to a raised position from which it can be removed from the swing- arm (along with the wiring) and fed through an access opening in a separate cover plate lid. The plug on the pedestal housing is then positioned in the access opening to hold the pedestal assembly in the above-ground position. A series of separate fiber optic splice connections, or other underground utility service connections, can be made when rotating the pedestal between the stored position and the above-ground position.

Lithium iodide is reacted with 2-(5-ethoxyhept-1-yl)spiro[bicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-6,2'-oxirane] and 4-(5-ethoxyhept-1-yl)spiro-[bicyclo-[3.2.0]heptane-6,2'-oxirane] to produce 6-(5-ethoxyhept-1-yl)bicyclo[3.3.0]octan-3-one. A method of synthesizing 6-(5-methoxyhept-1-yl)bicyclo[3.3.0]octan-3-one is also described.

[57] Abstract:

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a three-pack type dialysis agent with which it is possible to set the total acetic acid ion content in a dialysis fluid at a low value and which is excellent in terms of the storage stability of glucose, etc. and can be reduced in the odor of acetic acid. Therewith, it is possible to prepare a dialysis fluid so that the bicarbonate ion concentration can be changed at will according to need, while the concentrations of trace metal ions such as potassium ions, calcium ions, and magnesium ions are kept constant. The three-pack type dialysis agent comprises agent S comprising sodium chloride, agent B comprising sodium bicarbonate, and agent A containing glucose and an electrolyte ingredient which is neither sodium chloride nor sodium bicarbonate. By making the agent A contain acetic acid and an acetic acid salt and satisfy that the molar ratio of acetic acid/acetic acid salt is 1/(0.5-2), a bicarbonate dialysis fluid having a total acetic acid ion concentration of 2 mEq/L or higher but less than 6 mEq/L can be prepared. This agent A not only is excellent in terms of the stability of the ingredients including glucose but also can be reduced in the odor of acetic acid. According to the three-pack type dialysis agent, by controlling the amounts of the agents S, B, and A to be added when preparing a dialysis fluid, the bicarbonate ion concentration and/or sodium concentration in the dialysis fluid can be also changed.

[Solution] A solid dialysis A agent which is to be used in preparing a bicarbonate dialysis fluid, wherein: the solid dialysis A agent contains glucose, acetic acid and an acetate salt; at least a part of a mixture of the acetic acid with the acetate salt is an alkali metal diacetate; and the acetic acid/acetate salt molar ratio is adjusted to 1/0.5 to 1/2. This solid dialysis A agent makes it possible to prepare a bicarbonate dialysis fluid which has a total acetate ion concentration of 2 to less than 6 mEq/L. Further, the dialysis A agent exhibits excellent stability of ingredients and a reduced acetic acid odor.
