1 MOSFIRE is a Multi-Object Spectrometer for the Near Infra- Red (wavelengths ~0.975-2.40 μm) • We are deep in the component fabrication and procurement phase. • Optics : Good progress at COSI, UCO, and other suppliers • Mechanical & Facilities: – Lots of fabrication complete and in- process at Caltech/UCLA shops as well as outside shops for larger components such as dewar, structure. – Clean room installed in Synchrotron high bay – Test & Build Stand fabrication complete • Software: good progress; waiting for hardware • Electronics: ramping up, EE hired @ UCLA 1 st Cold Test in planned for May 5, 2008
