This list represents a comparison of flash-off and drying characteristics of Standox Hardeners. Hardeners should only be used as specified on the technical data sheets. Flash-off time and drying are dependent upon film thickness. Higher film builds will produce longer flash-off and slower dry times. Temperatures shown only provide a reference point. Actual temperature, humidity, air movement, size of the refinish area, and location of the refinish area will affect hardener choice. Please see appropriate VOC Wallchart for 2K, 2.1 or PF Hardener choice.

Standox® 2.1 Filler Important Technical Remarks: • For areas outside of the 2.1 lbs/gal limit, Standox 2.1 Filler can be mixed with Standox 2K Hardeners and 2K
Thinners. 4:1+20-30% 18-23s/DIN 4mm. The addition of 2K Thinners and 2K Plasticiser will slow the flash off times in warm weather conditions and on large areas.
• Standox 2K Fast Dry Additive (16169) can not be used in the product. • When using Standox 2.1 Filler in wet-on-wet application methods, the use of slower hardeners and slower
thinners significantly improves flow, leveling and risk of over application. • Higher film builds and lower temperatures will require longer drying times. • Small imperfections can be reworked with Standox Polyester Stopper. Spot polyester must be re-primed. • Unsanded replacement parts primed with solvent-resistant E-coat primer can be directly with this product after
thoroughly cleaned with Standox Silicone Remover Antistatic/ Standohyd VOC Cleaner 25 or Standohyd Cleaner and a scuff pad.
• Use a Standox Etch Primer on all bare metal for Warranty compliance and adhesion. • For areas of California with Specialty Coating % limitations, Standox 2.1 Filler can be used for plastic refinishing.
Raw plastic must be pre-primed with Standoflex® 1K Plastic Primer (12065). This filler should not be used on plastics such as ABS or polycarbonate.

Standohyd® Basecoat Important Technical Remarks: • Mix 10% with Standohyd under hood colors. For best appearance and chemical resistance topcoat with matted/
low glass clearcoat. • Standohyd Basecoat must be overcoated with a 2K Standocryl Clear Coat for long term protection. • Standohyd Basecoat should be overcoated within 8 hours @ 68°F (20°C) for optimum results and to minimize
surface contamination. • Dispose of cleaning water properly. Do not dispose of cleaning water into drains. • Use standard health and safety equipment. • Use appropriate spray equipment designed for waterborne products. • Use only Standohyd VE Water or Standohyd LH Thinner (Low Humidity) for thinning to ensure proper product
performance. • When applying Standohyd Basecoat over 2K Nonstop Primer Filler and 2K Plastic Primer Surfacer wet-on-wet,
the 2K Fillers must flash-off for at least 20 minutes. • Do not add Standox Hardeners to Standohyd Basecoat. • For hot and low humidity conditions, viscosity should be 20s/DIN 4mm 68°F (20°C) and use a larger fluid tip. • For multi-stage ground coats and poor hiding colors, add 5% Standohyd Special Additive (16197) then thin with
VE Water to 20-22S/ DIN4. Verify color match before applying. Important Legislative Remarks: • Please see the appropriate VOC Wallchart for compliance for your area. The wallchart will reflect appropriate
VOC for BC/CC methodology. The values depicted below are “as applied regulatory” for the coating alone. Values have been determined using EPA Test Method 24. Please see the Master Values List for information on individual components.
