BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Main Objective:Advance the geosciences, especially as they relate to petroleum resources; to disseminate information relating to geosciences and the associated disciplines.

•Promote the technology of exploring for, exploiting, and producing Petroleum

•To foster the spirit of scientific research throughout its membership

University Assistance Programme (UAP)

•Founded in 1999 in response to the noticeable decline in the standard of Geoscience education in Nigeria

Main Objective:•To complement the effort of the Universities, States and Federal Government to maintain established educational standard. " To contribute substantially to the continuous improvement of educational among Higher Institutions and Oil/Mining Industries.

Conclusion

We believed as an organisation that for Nigeria and Nigerian universities to attain the necessary educational standard equal to other parts of the world, appropriate fees must be charged.
