3. Number sort: Randomly pull out 6 numbers from your 1-100 number cards. Put the numbers in order, then write them from least to greatest value. Repeat this activity several times to practise comparing numbers. Try this activity again but write the numbers from greatest to least value.

4. Place Value Game: o Use a deck of cards with picture cards

removed. o Place the cards in the middle of the players. o Each player chooses two cards from the

deck. o Turn your cards over and make the largest

number you can. o The player making the largest number wins. o They take all the 4 cards. o When the full deck has been used count up

who collected the most cards.

2. Maps activity: o Draw a map of the rooms in your house. o Write some directions to get from your bedroom

to the family room, or the kitchen. o Can someone in your family follow your

directions, exactly as you wrote them, and find their way to the right place.

o Directions can be given verbally rather than written. The focus here is on language for direction and location – left, right, forward, down, over, between, around, etc.

3. Game: Secret Object Game. o Hide something small and give

directions to a partner to go find it. It is important for your child to take turns following directions as the seeker, as well as take turns giving directions to the seeker.

Grab a blank piece of paper and get your parents to fold the sheet of paper in half and then in half again so you have 4 squares (like the 4 squares in Maths). PE Fitness activities

Choose your own adventure- Choose one (or more if you like) to complete each day. Work to your own fitness level. Smile and have FUN. Week 4

Throw Tennis

Create a small court either indoors or outdoors with a “net” in the middle. Players must

underarm throw the ball to land in the court on the opponent’s side of the net. The other player must catch the ball after one bounce and return

the ball from where they caught it.

The aim is to win the point by making your opponent miss the catch. You will also win the

point if your opponent throws the ball out or into the net.

Broom Hockey

Set up a small field either indoors or outdoors with

two goals. Play 1 v 1 or 2 v 2.

Kids challenge mum and dad to a game and see who wins bragging rights. (Parents you may like to

increase the stakes and offer a night off washing up or other jobs for the winners)
