An Urgent Need ...•In 2005 a law was passed that all teachers need to
have a bachelors degree by 2015
•Around 30,000 teachers in Christian schools don’t have a BA in education as required by the law.
•If they fail to get the required qualification by 2015, they may not serve as teachers any longer.
•The consequence is very clear, a large number of non-Christian teachers will replace them or many Christian schools will be closed down many in the poorest communities.
Meanwhile there is

God Opens A Window of Opportunity for Churches in Indonesia
to work hand-in-hand in order to TRANSFORM Indonesia
in spite of this problem

The main point of this book is summarized in page 22: "when a critical mass of people have the Bible and apply what it teaches in their lives, a nation is transformed...whenever a critical number of people abandon the Bible and stop applying it in their personal lives, that nation begins to destroy itself."

LOCAL ICT Learning Centre
LOCAL ICT Learning Centre
LOCAL ICT Learning Centre
The solution
• Learning centres are being established in churches and Christian schools across Indonesia to equip teachers
• Teachers will undertake portfolio development and on line learning in these centres to gain their degree from Indonesian Christian universities
12
Currently we have around 20 Local ICT learning Centers (as models) throughout Indonesia
much more is needed
much more is needed
The solution
• Each centre will be established and led by a learning facilitator and an IT facilitator.
• Learning facilitators take a role similar to our UofN schools leaders - to create a discipling culture where participants are discipled in order to disciple the children in their care. 2Tim 2:2
• Each centre will be grouped around 10 - 12 regional centres in key Christian pockets of Indonesia
Our role
• To assist in the training of learning and IT facilitators for the learning centres.
• Facilitators will be trained in – Spiritual formation– Biblical world view– Skill development
• Facilitator training takes place during ten day intensive and ongoing weekly meetings
Our role
• Key UofN campus’s will link with each regional learning centre
• They will assist with the training week by– Assisting with teaching spiritual formation– Forming relationship with facilitators particularly
from the connected region.• They will continue for 2 to 5 years linking with
regional centres and assisting to mentor learning and IT facilitators in that region.
