Welcome to the Hart Voting System!

What’s Different About Voting?

eSlate Voting Booth

When you arrive to vote, you will sign in as always.

The election judge will give you a four-digit Access Code. This code enables you to vote on the eSlate with VBO.

You will see new voting booths. Proceed to the eSlate voting booth and follow the simple “How to Vote” instructions.

A poll worker will provide you with an Access Code. The Access Code tells the system which ballot to present for only your particular precinct.

The Access Code does not link the ballot to you. Your vote is completely confidential.

Step 1 – Receive an Access Code

Turn the SELECT wheel clockwise to go forward and advance through the ballot and counter clockwise to go backward to the previous selections.

Highlight your choice then press the ENTER button to make a selection.

Use the PREV button to go to the previous ballot page.Use the NEXT button to go to the next ballot page.

Press the HELP button at any time to get help.

Use the CAST BALLOT button to cast your ballot.

Turn the SELECT wheel to highlight the first number of your Access Code.

Press the ENTER button to choose the number and repeat the process for each digit in your Access Code.

When the last digit in your code has been entered, you will see the first page of your ballot.

Step 3 – Enter Your Access Code

Turn the SELECT wheel to highlight your ballot choice. Press the ENTER button.

The box to the left of your choice changes to red, marking your selection.

Continue through the ballot until you have voted all the contests you wish to vote.

To change your choice, turn the SELECT wheel to the new choice and press the ENTER button.

Step 4 – Make Your Choices

Turn the SELECT wheel to highlight the Write-In option and press the ENTER button.

Next, turn the SELECT wheel to highlight each letter of the candidate's name and press the ENTER button after each letter.

When finished, turn the SELECT wheel to highlight "Accept"

Next, press the ENTER button.

Step 5 – Review Your Ballot

Read the Ballot Summary Page. After reviewing your choices press the red CAST BALLOT button to continue.

To change a choice from the Ballot Summary Page, turn the SELECT wheel clockwise to highlight the contest you wish to change and press the ENTER button. Once you have completed your changes, you will be returned to the Ballot Summary Page.

After you press the CAST BALLOT button, a printed record verifying your selections will print within the VBO unit.

Verify the paper record, if you are satisfied with your selections, turn the SELECT wheel to highlight "Accept Page" and press the ENTER button.

After you have verified and accepted all printed pages, press the CAST BALLOT button to finish voting.

Your ballot has been cast when you see the waving American flag and the printed record of

your ballot scrolls upward and out of sight.

The eSlate Offers Many Accessible Options to Cast Your Ballot

Vote using highly sensitive jelly switches also known as tactile input switches.

Vote using a voter provided sip-and-puff device.

Listen to the ballot using the

headphones.

Absentee Vote By-mail Instructions

Ballot Now

• Use a BLUE or BLACK pen to completely fill in the box beside your choice, as shown here.

• Do not fill in more choices than allowed.

• If you make a mistake, you may correct it by crossing out the incorrect choice with an X and marking your true choice.

• You must sign and date the voter’s affidavit.

• Make sure you mail your ballot in the envelope provided so it will be received no later than Election Day.
