PRESENTATION Confidence

1Don’t worry if you are

NERVOUS

You may WANT to be fearless, confident, charismatic and focussed under pressure…

But if you are, you are quite possibly a

psychopath…

Don’t beat yourself up… It’s NORMAL to be nervous.

2 You don’t have to be

PERFECT

No one is. Seriously.

Count Ken Robinson’s ehms and errs…

3 You DO have to prepare

PREPARE

This is NOTpreparation…

Putting your slides together the night before…

Using someone else’s slides and adding a few of your own…

Writing a script which you hardly look at and don’t actually read out loud until “the day”.

4 You can’t “over”

REHEARSE

Steve Jobs and Winston Churchill practiced for hundreds of hours…

5 Keep your message

SIMPLE

If you can’t remember your key points you won’t feel confident…

And…if you can’t remember all your key points, your audience sure as hell won’t!

6 Believe what you are

SAYING

If you believe it will show. Passion and belief create magic.

7 Be

YOURSELF

Because everyone else is taken. Oscar Wilde

8 Practice your

POWER POSE

Research shows that confident body posture actually makes you feel more confident.

9 Your appearance does

MATTER

Your appearance is your brand. Plan it strategically as part of your preparation.

Brand YOU

10 SMILE

Smiling makes you feel good and look confident (and audiences love happy presenters).
