10-night PANAMA CANAL, Costa Rica & Caribbean Cruise
onboard Coral Princess, January 27-February 6, 2017
Day-by-Day Itinerary
DAY 1, Jan 27: Ft. Lauderdale Embarkation begins
around Noon today, and lunch will be served upon boarding. Be on board no later than 2:30pm. Let us know if you would like to arrive a day or two before the cruise to enjoy the Ft. Lauderdale area.
DAY 2 & 3 Jan 28/29: Enjoy Days at Sea A great
time to get acquainted with the Coral Princess. Take advantage of all the amenities and activities onboard! Enjoy a complimentary get-together with your group!
DAY 4, Jan 30: Aruba Dutch influence
still lingers on this balmy Caribbean island, part of the former Netherlands Antilles until its independence in 1986. Aruba is a con-trast: the island's arid interior is dotted with cactus and windswept divi-divi trees while secluded coves and sandy beaches make up its coast.
DAY 5, Jan 31: Cartagena, Columbia Steeped in history, the famous "Old City" is
comprised of 12 square blocks filled with attractions, boutiques and restaurants. Its fortress walls, quaint narrow streets, and balconied houses are all vivid remind-ers of Spain's influence on Cartagena. Well-constructed fortifications defended its borders against seafaring pirates whose attacks lasted for more than 200 years. Today this bustling port has much of its original colonial architecture.
DAY 6, Feb 1: Panama Canal/Colon, Panama The
canal is a marvel of engineering, but the area is also a sanctuary for sloths, eagles, ocelots and toucans, thanks to a lush rainforest environment and tropical temperatures. It’s been called the eighth wonder of the world! You will hear much about the history of this highlight while on the cruise.
Onboard the Coral Princess, we will sail through the first 3 locks of the canal, raising a total of 85 feet, into the scenic Gatun Lake. Here guests may disembark on a number of optional tours to explore the canal zone. You may opt for a ride on the Panama Canal Railway, explore Miraflores locks, take an aerial tram ride of the area or simply stay onboard to retrace the Gatun locks and dock in Colon later this evening.
As the world's second largest duty-free port, Colón offers abundant shopping. Guests may explore dockside shops.
DAY 7, Feb 2: Limon, Costa Rica Costa Rica's Limon
Province boasts pristine beaches, sprawling banana plantations and dense rainforest. These Caribbean lowlands are still sparsely populated--nearly a third of the province's population lives around Puerto Limon--and conservation efforts have led to growing eco-tourism. Limon Province offers other charms as well. Afro-Caribbean influences abound, from the lilting speech and reggae rhythms brought by Jamaican settlers to the colorful bungalows lining small fishing villages. Limon is a zesty little slice of heaven.
DAY 9, Feb 4: Grand Cayman The Caymans are a
Caribbean demi-paradise of white-sand beaches, coral gardens, and offshore waters harboring spectacular ship-wrecks. Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman also boast the highest standard of living in the entire Carib-bean. This union of natural beauty and cosmopolitan style makes Grand Cayman a spectacular port of call for today's adventurers. Note: there is no pier in Grand Cayman so guests transfer to shore by tender into the downtown area.
DAY 8, Feb 3: Enjoy a Day at Sea Enjoy a relax-
ing day at sea and take in the warm and relaxing Caribbean breezes.
DAY 10, Feb 5: Day at Sea Bask in the luxury of your
last day together on your floating resort. Tonight, we’ll share in a complimentary, group Farewell Party!
DAY 11, Feb 6: Ft. Lauderdale After breakfast this
morning, we’ll disembark and head home filled with new experience and good memories!
NOTE:
You may opt to
get off the ship
in Gatun Lake for an
optional tour to explore
the Canal zone on a variety of
excursions designed to enhance your
vacation experience!
