#1 - ACT Scores
2015 graduates scored a composite average of 23.3 (2014 graduates 23.4)
This was higher than neighboring schools and all but one in the Big River’s
Conference.
Stave average composite was recorded as 21.1
Rice Lake surpassed all state expectations in the college-readiness benchmark
scores that indicate a 75% chance of earning a “C” or better on credit-bearing
college coursework
Rice Lake – English 82.7% college ready vs. State - English 74% college ready
Rice Lake – Reading 55.5% college ready vs. State - Reading 53% college ready
Rice Lake – Science 54.5% college ready vs. State - Science 49% college ready
Rice Lake – Math 70.9% college ready vs. State - Math 52% college ready
#2 – College Readiness
Each year 10 -14 students are accepted to UW-Madison, which has the
reputation of a rigorous admission process. We have many more students who
choose prestigious private and other D-1 universities.
2015 – Three graduates from the UW Madison Medical school - Hannah Smith,
Mary Erickson, Allison Aul
56% of our 2015 high school graduates planned to attend a 4 year university.

#3 – Career Readiness – Career Pathways
We continue to collaborate with local businesses.
Our recent pathway in welding is an early example of how we have
successfully partnered with local stakeholders.
#4 - Ability to Innovate
During engineering course at RLHS, 2015 graduate Sam Burdick invented a
putter that was later approved for use by the USGA.
He utilized Independent Study and Technology and Engineering courses taught
by RLHS staff to prototype, design, and manufacture his idea.
#5 – Facilities
Our recent referendum supported new science labs, auditorium lobby, and
Career and Technical Education renovations.
#6 – Athletics Warrior spirit is running strong with 21 WIAA sanctioned sports offered.
Last school year 5 teams qualified for state –Girls’ Golf, Boys’ Soccer,
Football, Boys’ Basketball, and Gymnastics – along with individuals and relays
in Cross Country, Track, Wrestling, and Boys’ Swimming.
Additionally, numerous school records have been shattered recently.
#7 – Vocal and Instrumental Music RLHS Band has over 160 members
Selected to play at the WASB Convention for 2015-16
Grand Champions of the Rutabaga Festival Parade Band Competition for 10 consecutive years
Performed at Disney World in The Magic Kingdom
41 Band Events qualified for State in 2015
3 Band members performed in State Honors Ensembles in 2014 and 5 qualified in 2015
RLHS Choir has over 160 members
Chamber Choir accepted to sing at the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for 2015-16
All choirs received 1’s at WSMA Large Group Festival
2 Choral members performed in State Honors Ensembles in 2014 and 3 qualified for 2015
33 Choral Events qualified for State Solo & Ensemble in 2015
#8 – Club and Activities
29 different clubs offer students of diverse interests a way to be involved,
many of them earning state and national recognition.
NHS, FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, Forensics, Key Club, Warriorettes, Warrbirds,
International Club, Yearbook, Skills USA, Young Democrats, Young republicans,
Cross Country Ski Club, Mountain Biking Club, RLHS Theater, FCA, Voice it Up,
Rhythm Show Choir, Blue Hills Race Team, Conservation Club, Supermileage Club,
RLHS Color Guard, Math Team ,SWAG, LGBT, Art Club, and RLHS Girls Club
#9 – NLRA – Makerspace & FabLab
Northern Lakes Regional Academy provides a Project-based Learning
experience for high school students and complete Makerspace lab for district
use.
#10 - Course Offerings At RLHS we are proud to offer 152 different courses including 10 Advanced
Placement options.
16 suggested career clusters are included in the Course Description Booklet to
help parents guide their child through the four-year high school plan.
