10 RULES…

Rule #1

Clean and grease the shank end of the drill bit/chisel before inserting it into the SDS chuck. In this way, both the chuck and hammer mechanism will last longer.

Rule #2

In continuous use, do regular breaks in every 15-20 minutes. In such a fashion, the grease restores its optimal properties needed for the trouble free work of the hammer mechanism.

Rule #3

After prolonged use, leave your hammer running for 1-2 minutes at max speed without load. In this manner, the motor is better cooled which increases its service life.

Rule #4

In cold weather or after long period of storage, the hammer action may not start at once. In such a case, impact manually with the drill bit/chisel (as inserted in the chuck) on the ground. Pull the trigger and leave the tool running for a minute without load.

Rule #5

Switching working modes (drilling, hammer drilling or chiseling) may get the mode selector stuck. If so, turn manually the chuck left wise and right wise before moving the mode switch further.

10 RULES…

Rule #6

Apply the chiseling mode only for small scale and short-lasting tasks - plaster or tiles removal, cable or pipe channeling, etc. Otherwise, the hammer mechanism may get damaged. For large scale chiseling tasks, you would better use a demolition hammer.

10 RULES…

Rule #7

Avoid mixing mortars, plaster, adhesives or other liquids of high viscosity. Otherwise, the safety clutch may get damaged.

Rule #8

Avoid driving series of large diameter screws. Otherwise, like the case with mixing, it will increase the strain on the clutch causing its premature damage.

10 RULES…

Rule #9

You would better use drill bits and chisels from trusted, well established producers. Low cost accessories may have larger SDS slots which do not fit well into the chuck. As a result, the strain on the chuck is increased leading to its damage.

Rule #10

If you use the tool quite frequently (for example, in your profession) it is worthwhile to bring it at least once in a year to an authorized service centre for a preventive check. In this way, the hammer is more likely to operate trouble free for a long period.
